Here is the official answer from Tulsa: Rich, Paula, I am the event coordinator for the Prowler Owners Association, 2007 National Event. Our club is attending Tulsarama for the unearthing of the 1957 Plymouth. We will have in the neighborhood of 80 to 100 cars in Tulsa from 06/14 thru 06/22. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites hotel. We are about to submit our entry for the Open Car Show. At the present I have commitments for 71 cars to enter the Open Car show and 114 people attending the unveiling ceremony. I am sure this number will increase. I will be mailing the car show registration by the end of the month. Before I submit the registration form I have a question. This message has been edited by BeWare on 02-22-2007 at 01:48 PM Question though - Ed the Moan-a-hen mentioned somewhere that the car show is CLOSE to the event hotel ? Maybe it would be within 'walking distance' ? Just wondering This message has been edited by DUSTI on 02-22-2007 at 11:48 AM This message has been edited by BeWare on 02-22-2007 at 01:29 PM Just FYI, the hotel is not right next to the car show. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 02-22-2007 at 01:34 PM This message has been edited by DUSTI on 02-22-2007 at 01:38 PM Rich - this would be a great idea - I will gladly NOT plan anymore POA events and just show up to have fun if you really want to "get rich" being an event planner. Have Ms. Kitty start reading them to you. lol I imagine that planning these events take up a lot of your free time. This will only be my 2nd large scale Prowler event. I thought Marty did a great job with Louisville. Thanks to all the past, present and future event planners!!! We are building a new stadium / convention center in that area. If you choose to park elsewhere you will most certainly have to walk a good distance. Hmmm...sounds like bad timing. It was a virtual Car Show at the Louisville Marriott. I mentioned to several people to stop by if they got a chance. I noticed that several of them did! http://www.vision2025.info/includes/pages/updateddwtntulsamap/uploads/0/file.pdf This message has been edited by Lance.d on 02-25-2007 at 11:09 PM BeWare I have had some inquiries about parking availability if you don't enter the car show or are driving a family vehicle or rental car etc. I also inquired about parking non show cars with the Prowlers. I am unable to make any parking reservations for non show cars. You will have to use available general public parking. This also means anyone choosing to not enter their Prowler in the Open Car Show will also be on their own for parking. If I were a betting man, I would bet parking will not be free at most if not all available lots. I will be mailing the OPen Car Show registration no later than Feb 28.
The open car show will be for car clubs and classic cars, not transportation. There is parking in the Convention Center area, but they do not make reservations unfortunately. I would also suggest that on the weekends, many of the parking lots where downtown employees park will be available and the walk to our open area would not be too lengthy.
I hope this information helps.
Paula
My question read as follows
Some of our members will be driving family vehicles instead of their Prowlers. They have inquired about being able to park either with or very near the cars entered in the Open Car Show. If I reserve them a spot in the Open Car show will they be allowed to park with the Prowlers or will they be restricted from entering because they are not driving a show car? If the will not be permitted to enter the show car parking area will there be parking close by that can be reserved? If so how do I proceed to make those reservations? Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.Rod Endsley Rich; You are doing a great job on the planing Thanks Rod 1buddyc Rich, you should quit your Day Job and become an Event Planner full time. You could probably get rich if the stress didnt kill you first.....Thanks again for your efforts! DUSTI Thanks Rich for all your work ! BeWare Dusti, The Courthose where the Plymouth is buried is 7.61 miles from the Embassy Suites and the Convention Center where it will be unveiled is 8.06 miles from the Embassy Suites. And that is pretty much as the crow flies because it is nearly a straight line drive from the hotel across highway 51 to downtown Tulsa.
ed monahan Dusti, is this the quote?
