RHinsonHas anyone installed heated seats in their Prowler? My friend installed them in his Z06 and it was really easy. We just had to remove the skins from the seats, do a little wiring, and build a carbon fiber panel to hold the switches. We ended up putting the seat switches with the nitros switches in a panel recessed in the ash tray pocket.
Tom SantellaIt would be kind of nice. But most times I would need the heated seats, my Kat is tucked in the garage.

CJI agree with Tom..........great idea, but during the time I would need them..........like now.....my cats are in the bags for the winter.
Marty UsherCJ - come on, there is NO WAY you would be cutting holes to install switches anywhere on your Prowlers, is there? That could lead to flames, engine enhancements, gears, and other modifications!
Bob GoetzThe leather on the Prowler seats is bonded to the foam, you would have to cut it loose to install the heating pads.

RHinsonI keep mine in the garage also, but here in N.C the winter is cold and no snow. The last few months we have had little rain and no snow. If you leave the cat out for an hour or two while at a restaurant the interior is freezing when you get back to your car. Just thought the heated seats would be nice. Also, you would not have to drill any holes or alter your stock interior panels in any way.

Now concerning the seats being glued, I have been thinking of recovering the seats exactly like the stock covers. The only thing I would change is I would add dark grey suede inserts and switch to orange french stitching (my cat is orange). I am also thinking of getting a new shifter and brake boot in black leather with orange french stitching. Basically the look they use in the new GTO, 911, etc. My friend that has the Z06 had an yellow 911 turbo and the interior of both cars was done the same as what I want to do to the prowler. It was amazing.

toysHEATED SEATS!!!!!!!!!!!.

This is Just a tech tip.

Have someone give you a real good spanking until your Butt turns BRIGHT RED Just before you get in the car and your seat will feel nice and toasty warm
Hope this helps.

Just Kidding.

Be sure you tell the upholstery shop to check your seats before they quote you a price. To do the job right you will need new foam. When they tore off the original leather on mine the foam came out in chunks.

The boots are easy to do. I've made new ones a couple of times.

Bob GoetzTUIB it looks like cookie has been loosing weight along with she is looking a little pale. Also you had better keep her away from the new Charger at the car shows or you might lose her to a rapper, you know they like them BIG BUTTS.

tangled up in BLUEBob.....lack of beach time this winter explains the "whiter shade of pale"....snow has been bad recently and the Twinkie delivery truck missed a few days getting to our house.....
SuperKatAnnie loves her heated seats all year long. it seems to help her back. I'd like to learn more about adding to the prowler.

Thanks Ed.

Sandy is the same way. It helps her hip and leg pain. Not to mention she is a freeze cat.
Sandy is taking Neurontin, which is actually an anti-seizure medicine but a side effect was that it blocks some pain. I have no idea how they discovered that, but thank goodness they did. You might tell Annie to ask her doctor about it. It has helped Sandy tremendously.

ChromerThis photo from SuperDave's post is one kind of "heated seat" you DON'T want!!

"Yea...sure enough Geno..it's pop bottle Rocket butt alright.."

CJBob received a flyer in the mail from a company called WarmSeats. They say that they are the DIY Leader of Automotive OEM Carbon FIber Seat Heaters. Maybe these would work in the Prowlers? Their website is: WarmSeats

R DorigoHow about cold seats ? Don't know why they put a heater in the kat to begin with ! Don't even have one in the house.
OrangeCJ,

Since the leather is glued directly to the seat, wouldn't is be a problem to install a seat heater? Aftermarket seat heaters are basically pads that usually install under the leather.

CJI have no idea Orange, I just thought those who were considering it would be interested in checking out the website for these people.
