I don't think an aswer to this question will help/hurt one way or the other as most insurance companies are independent. In other words, just because company A does in Southern Kalimazoo, doesn't mean that same company (different office) will in Northern Kalimazoo. I personally think it may even give some companies leverage NOT to pay any claim. ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ This message has been edited by jan bruggeman on 12-30-2003 at 07:44 PM ------------------Lone Ranger I was wondering if anyone has had an insurance claim after they had removed their bumper(s), and what was the final outcome? steelercat I would like to know also, I just removed my fronts and I am thinking about doing the rears. In short it did not seem to matter if the car had them or not they just wanted photos and copy of invoices for the aftermarket and custom work to put a value on a total loss replacement. I was asking for $70,000 and they agreed to $65,000, the cost to me to do this over the standard policy was $147.00 more a year. So if you have no bumpers take pictures give them receipts for custom work, put extra coverage on the car and now they can not dispute anything.

Marty Usher Thanks for the suggestion Bob. Now I'll call you in the morning to get receipts from you for Chrome nut covers, Suspension brace, Chrome doorsill covers, Classic bumper cover, Aero rear pan, Air Patrol, Seat cushion foam, Torque Trust Wheels, Stainless dual mufflers, and whatever else I have bought or stolen off your car at POA events! ed monahan Mine is still stock. lol catfish fyi,the frt.bumpers, when on the car have alot to do w/air bag deployment,in a crash where they should deploy.w/o them, it changes the time at which they will deploy.on every car the frt.bumper is part of the deployment system.it actually is responsible when to deploy them, because it absorbs the main force .the crash must be absolutly dead center and have enough force.no bumpers changes that.w/o bumper it would take more force,or might not deploy at all.doesnt mean anything now.in a serios crash where they should have deployed and didnt,or somebody was seriously injured or died, it could mean alot.az.doesnt even have a law that says you must have bumpers on your car..if it ever happened, lets hope not, what a insurance mess that could be. Black Tie 161 Maybe your arse is covered like Bob said, if you let your ins. company know the mods to the car. There are insurance companies that specialize in covering hot rods and specialty cars, they would understand no bumpers... catfish a while ago i called my am/fam agent, and told him about all the mods,a little over 6000.00 worth.he said get a rider to your policy to cover it all.cost me 43.00 for 6 months.made a list of all mods, and took photos of all mods.sent to agent.he signed, made copies and returned.there are alot of cos.out there who wont cover mods,or aftermarket equipment.mine is now covered, before it wasnt.
