And in Canada, used Prowlers are still selling close to $55,000 Canadian (now translates to $40,000 US). So in US DOLLARS, us Canuck owners have been driving for free - no depreciation (not that this means much to us). While American cars were $45,000-ish new and seem to be selling for $30,000 or so. [/B] Your analogy only holds true if an American bought a Canadian Prowler (back then with strong US dollaar) and decides to sell it back in Canada now (with weaker dollar). Canadian buy and sell shows depreciation I also suspect there are import/export duties that might even make the buy in Canada and then sell back to Canada scenario not too rosey either. For your FYI, I do however, value a significant portion of my assets in US dollars and the recent currency moves have made everything I import from the US about 17% cheaper than it was a year ago. Now we are talking about price deflation but we won't get into that. The whole comment was just an interesting factoid - that's all I see your point and agree but, wouldn't it have also worked for an American buying a Canadian Prowler back in 2000 and now selling it back (for a Canadian price) to someone in Canada? There may be tarrifs or taxes that would make this unreal. I seem to remember taxes and fees being the main reason I didn't import a used Ferrari from some dealer there a few years back. The price was good but, when I calculated in all the other stuff.... Perhaps that has changed though. Prices and cars aside, we love Canada and ski there all the time. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! Thanks for the sharing a Prowler article that puts a fresh look on established information. I was somewhat surprised with the 20 MPG city and the 30 MPG statement on the spec sheet? Chromer. OK thats canadian!! I paid about $35500 average on my 2 Kats. I get alot of enjoyment out of them, and i know when i die someone will bebefit. How much who knows.

Bob Goetz Wayne that must be right because when I bought my 2000 the best deal I could get here was $42000, so I bought mine out of Canada for $37500 delivered and I got something that was not on the U.S. cars daytime running lights!

As does American buy and sellWayne Finch YF - as I stated, this only works for Canadians if they calculate things in US dollars and obviously almost no one does.
