SandyWe have just become Prowler owners. Now comes the insurance. Ugh! We are just wondering if anyone has some recommendations for reasonable insurance. Any help is appreciated.

ed monahanSandy, welcome to the POA.
A lot of variables on insurance and so what applies here in Ohio may not relate at all to you.
Driving record, local auto thefts, thefts from autos, repair rates, lawsuit history and rates, yearly mileage, your occupation, etc. all enter into it. State Farm may be great here and terrible there, or vice versa. You have to do a little checking around to compare your rates.
check these previous threads. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002469.html http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006605.html

butchceeI have Grundy and with a 50K stated value policy pay $735 a year. No deduction and no mileage limit but there are a few limitations-check it out. This is the best for me in my area.
superdopplerState Farm and I pay a little less than a hundred a month for full coverage [obviously] with a 500 dollar deductible. I'm 25.

GeneAs a add on with other car my rate is $345.12 each 6months State Farm Ins.
FL PhilI've been using Geico and the 99 Prowler is close to $650 and 01 Prowler touches $700 with $500 deductable and 15K miles per year.
ALLEY CATState Farm - $600 per year,,,7500 annual mileage limit, multi-car, multi-line coverages discounts apply.

I'd consider Al's company listed above: www.grundy.com
I like the stated value part.

Dale BeamanWelcome to the group! What year and color did you get?

State Farm is the best in my area. Same deal as the others who have posted here. Make it your 3rd vehicle and occasional drive and it helps.

ProwlerI used Progressive Direct (Progressive Ins. over the internet) and pay $360/6 months. $500 collision and $250 Comp. '01 Mulholland and no milage restrictions.

Tate DanielsI'm in North Carolina and have Nationwide Insurance, I have a 2001 Prowler and I just paid my premium this week and for six months the cost was $393.24, This is based on multi car, long term, home and car and safe driver discounts. I have $100,000/300,000 for bodily injury, 300,000 property damage. Uninsured is also 100,000/300,000. I have $250 deductible on collision and $0 on comprehensive. For comparison my 2002 PT Cruiser with the same coverage was $332.80
BeWareWelcome to the POA. Insurance rates for the same companys vary from state to state and can even vary from county to county.

MDProwlerIMO wherever you get insurance make sure it is insured for an "agreed upon value" which means if it's totaled or stolen you get that amount and not depreciated value which most companies such as State Farm, Geico etc. would normally pay. I am personally using American Hobbiest Ins Agency which only insures collecter cars and street rods, etc. You pick the amount of coverage you desire. For Prowlers the comp rate is $1.68 per $100 of agreed value.
