Bill Watson	In one month I will be entering my 2002 Candyapple Red in a contest against about two hundred and twenty-five cars. I will be putting it in as totally stock. I'll have a 10' x 20' space. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do so that I can bring home the number one trophy? Cause after all it is the number one car. My wife thinks I'm a fanatic because I take a nap in the afternoon in the garage with my cars. What do you think? Need help, Bill 2002 Gold & 2002 Candyapple
jkburns	Bill: Congratulations. You've got the bug. My only advice is to have a display sign made...a poster-sized mounted description of your Kat, i.e. HP, 1/4 mile time, stereo wattage, how many were made, etc. I had this done at my local Kinko's (24-hour copy and fax place) for about $80, and it really added to the "presentation" of the car. TriJim	Bill -- You're not talking about Autorama in Dallas? Just kidding, I'm in the same position with my Viper. N. TX Viper Club will have a display at Autorama in 2 weeks and I'm entering my Final Edition. First real show. Laddie kindly has helped with suggestions on the showboard and presentation. You should check out his post from the New Orleans show a couple weeks ago. Click for the thread. Since the Viper paint scheme is patterned after the Daytona race cars, I'm using a racing theme with red, black, and white as the primary colors and checkered flag tape for the barrier. I had the back wheels off last weekend and will clean the fronts later today. It's amazing the amount of brake dust that accumulates after a couple track days. Only other tips I'll add is Zaino and Simple Green. Good luck. I'm not worried about winning trophies, I just don't want to embarrass my car. ------------------ Jim B. CJ	In my experience with managing the International Show Car Association (the association that sanctions the competitions at the Autoramas and World of Wheels), not only do they judge you on the vehicle, but the displays are also judge and count for a fair amount in the judging totals. Larry Mayes, Wildcat, should be able to fill you in more, as he competed on this circuit!

RPL	If you do a sign for your car, make sure that you point out that this was the final production color for the car and that only 277 were made for the United States. Mike's special blue car was just that, a special one-off to commemorate production of the car. Also add that total production was only 11,703 over the entire life of the car. The typical Cameros, Mustangs, GTO's and etc. can't claim that. Heck, Corvette makes twice that many in a typical year. This message has been edited by RPL on 02-01-2003 at 01:55 PM

Bill Watson	Thank you to all of you for your ideas and help, I will try to incorporate them into the way I prepare my Kat and presentation. I pulled my back rims off today, am waxing the back side of them and reblackening the tires including the tread, and waxing all up underneath the fenders. It's more work than I thought.
