If he got a V6 Charger, you'll probably do ok... He'll smoke you with any one of the V8's... I drove the SRT version in Vegas on an AutoX... Almost as much fun as a Viper  |

| mcrealty | Here is the SRT8 I used in the Great American Run, Miami to LA. 715rwhp, it is fast but heavy. Feels very unstable over 135mph. The stock suspension has been replaced with airbags for shows, so the handling isn't there but it is pretty fast.

| Marty Usher | In the 1/8 mile a stock Prowler will beat a 300C HEMI and in a 1/4 mile the times are within a tenth of a second. Perhaps the Charger is lighter but I still think the Prowler woukld win in a drag race. From a moving start the Charger would win hands down. If the Charger is a SRT8 it would be faster also. |

60/100000 Head-To-Head Competition: Muscle cars have quickly grown into a niche market, with manufacturers eager to revive or refresh models from the '60s. The Charger competes squarely with the redesigned Ford Mustang, the recently revived Chevrolet Impala, and the ever-present Pontiac Grand Prix. They each fall in at about $20,000, except for the Mustang, which starts at around $18,000. All come standard with V6 engines, with the Mustang's being the largest at 4.0 liters, and the Charger having the smallest, at 2.7 liters. All start with around 200 horsepower. The Charger has the least, 190, while the Mustang reigns supreme with 210. But any professional driver will tell you that its torque, not horsepower, that wins races. Once again, the Charger is at the bottom, with 190 pounds of torque at 4000 RPM, and the Mustang wins out with 240 pounds at 3500 RPM. Of course, if you upgrade to the Charger SRT8, you'll get a much more powerful 6.1 liter SRT V8 engine with 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-feet of torque. Out of the lot, only the Mustang and Charger come in rear-wheel drive, but the Mustang is the only one that comes standard with a manual transmission. The Charger and Mustang are pretty much equal in terms of fuel efficiency. All in all, if you want power, the Mustang is the car to get.

My Prowler at a mile high ran 16.20's Stock Hemi 5.7 Charger ran 16.40's Stock SRT Charger ran 15.10's Marc's, Dean built Gen 1 engine Prowler ran 14.1... Shocker for me was the SRT Neon with some mods ran 12.27's SRT Package is KILLER POWER... Remember this was done at MILE HIGH and will add 1 sec to your times... onecatnodog  |

| idive | I asked him a little about his Charger. He said he wasn't sure what engine it had, but he knew it was a V8 and a Hemi. It also says R/T on it, (as opposed to SRT or SRT8). A crew went out to a meeting offsite Thursday and said it was a little sluggish when he punched it. But also said that he punched it 3 times and each time there was a cop in the vicinity. LOL. I'm thinking it would be a fun, reasonably close race. I also think he is a little afraid to race me. LOL. If it happens, you can bet I'll post the results. Thanks for everyone's input. |

I think she meant to say reconnect the battery. It'd be kinda hard to turn on the AC or drive it with the battery disconnected.  But when I disconnect and re-connect MY battery, I get a scratch going into 2nd without trying, just like I did when I first bought it. So, maybe she's right... it WILL think its a V8!
