xpguyI got a wonderful surprise this morning. I was driving to work (sunny and 72 today) when the car in front of me stopped suddenly. I applied the brakes and was greeted with a severe smack in the back of the head as the Air Patrol came flying off the back deck right into my noggin. Several people saw it, so I just casually placed it in the passenger seat and went on my way until I could stop and rub the new bump on the back of my head. When I got to work I checked and everything looked good, except the deck connectors were both loose and twisty. It appears there are counter threaded nuts to keep these in place and over time they worked loose. Just a friendly reminder to check these periodically, especially if you leave the top down all the time like I do.

The Air Patrol is still wonderful and worth every penny. But unlike Ronco, you cannot just set it and forget it.

Also, I got my Weekender today and cannot wait to put it together! Another fantastic product by Real Rod.

Time to take another Tylenol....

Black Tie 161Wow....how embarrassing.

I guess some LokTite on the threads will prevent that from happening again.

Bob GoetzROOW ROOW RASTRO, using Loc Tight on the jam nuts just make sure you have the adjustment right before applying. Guy since yours came loose stop at the hardware store and get 2 new 5/16 internal tooth lock washers and replace the ones on the Air Patrol pins.
