I'm considering having my computer modules upgraded and wanted to know what people thought if the new performance justified the cost?! Thanks, Ron |

Consensus is that for the prowler it is a waste of $. Get a set of gears, a k&n filter in the stock airbox, maybe different mufflers and leave it at that imho. Anything short of a $20k stroker or V8, a bottle, then countless transmission replacements are the only other solutions to getting a screamer. Again, all an opinion. |

Thanks for the information. I have already changed the gears and added the K&N filter, but was hoping for a little more! |

Well I went ahead and had the PCM and TCM modules upgraded and I am amazed with the the overall performance!! Not only does the car now do burn outs the transition between 1st and 2nd gear is much smoother (but still gives a subtle bump when shifting)!! I would highly recommend the changes I made to anyone who is looking for more excitement (my other car is a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V that has been modified to 650HP)!! Ron |

If it didn’t do burnouts with just the gear change something is wrong. 😂😂😂 |

Who did you have do the upgrades? Mind if I ask what the cost was? How is everything since doing the upgrades? Looks like it's been over a year and a half since your post, just curious how it's treating you

I have had no issues since the upgrades (including gears), just more fun! However, the big issue I have now is getting it to pass CA smog test!! |

Ron,,, Does Calif. have,,like Arizona has, an exclusion for smog testing if your car is insured as a collector car or classic by any of the many insurers who have that kind of insurance coverage available to you? If so, you could forego having to go through emission testing requirements forever..... Just a thought. |

From CA DMV website faq: Does my vehicle qualify for a smog exemption? Smog inspections are required unless your vehicle is: Gasoline powered 1975 year model or older This message has been edited by VinceM on 10-08-2018 at 08:30 AM |
