Marathonservice1I'm considering having my computer modules upgraded and wanted to know what people thought if the new performance justified the cost?!

Thanks,

Ron

robinDisclaimer about the products PCM and TCM. Upgrade.

Just read it not sure if this would apply to you....

Note: Mechanical/Electrical performance parts listed or sold through this site cannot be used on vehicles used on public streets or highways. These parts may be used only on vehicles used solely in sanctioned off-highway events. No other applications are intended or implied
Note: PCM Modifications are for OFF-ROAD or Racing use only, and sold "as is" unless otherwise noted with no implied warranty! Additionally PCM upgrades may affect the emissions characteristics of the vehicle. If you install PCM Upgrade and your vehicle consequently fails state or local I/M emissions test, including any test required to maintain or renew your vehicles registration, or if your vehicle is subject to a emissions recall, Hot Car Accessories Inc. is not required to repair your vehicle, and you may be required to remove the PCM Upgrade at your own expense in order to obtain repairs necessary to pass the I/M test or to perform the recall.

dbudnerConsensus is that for the prowler it is a waste of $. Get a set of gears, a k&n filter in the stock airbox, maybe different mufflers and leave it at that imho. Anything short of a $20k stroker or V8, a bottle, then countless transmission replacements are the only other solutions to getting a screamer. Again, all an opinion.
Marathonservice1Thanks for the information. I have already changed the gears and added the K&N filter, but was hoping for a little more!
Marathonservice1Well I went ahead and had the PCM and TCM modules upgraded and I am amazed with the the overall performance!! Not only does the car now do burn outs the transition between 1st and 2nd gear is much smoother (but still gives a subtle bump when shifting)!!

I would highly recommend the changes I made to anyone who is looking for more excitement (my other car is a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V that has been modified to 650HP)!!

Ron

VinceMLet us know when you pass CA emissions testing with the mods.
Marathonservice1Will do!
MDProwlerIf it didn’t do burnouts with just the gear change something is wrong. 😂😂😂
WeezyWho did you have do the upgrades? Mind if I ask what the cost was? How is everything since doing the upgrades? Looks like it's been over a year and a half since your post, just curious how it's treating you

Marathonservice1I have had no issues since the upgrades (including gears), just more fun! However, the big issue I have now is getting it to pass CA smog test!!
ALLEY CATRon,,, Does Calif. have,,like Arizona has, an exclusion for smog testing if your car is insured as a collector car or classic by any of the many insurers who have that kind of insurance coverage available to you? If so, you could forego having to go through emission testing requirements forever..... Just a thought.
Marathonservice1That's a great thought and I haven't looked into this. But I will now!!!
