...Dow high, before Obama, 14,200 ...Dow high during Obama, 18,400 ...overall actual increase (not recovery) in 8 Obama years, approximately 4,000, or 500 points per year average ...worldwide bear market in 2008 and lack of confidence in Obama led to a 50% drop as the new president took office in 2009, it was approximately 5 years before the Dow recovered to its pre Obama high of 14,000....Trump Bull Market has added more actual gain in 10 months than the Obama admin did in 8 years.....it can't continue at this rate, but if it stayed where it is now for 7 more years, it would still beat by 20% the actual gains during Obama |

I'll tell ya,, if the tax bill does not pass and the Mueller investigation hurts Trump in any way,,, get prepared for a free fall. This could not end well in the short term. Possible buying opertunity. |

Yep, there is always the possibility that something will start a downward spiral. Monday might be a rocky ride but that has been said since the election. "The other shoe is about to drop, probably tomorrow (or soon)" per the main stream media. I am cashing out totally and buying BitCoin. lol |

I am almost 74 and I am looking at it LONG HAUL also. There will be a dip, no doubt, there always has been. That is when you want to sink more money in it, when it is low. No one can "time" the market. Stick your "extra" money in mutual funds and let the experts manage it, as long as you pick the right managers, you will make money over the long term. If you are afraid of the dip, you will also likely miss the surge, when it comes. |

I have my life savings of $400 in mutual funds and I'm letting it ride. It was only $250 last year. Wow what a ride. I told Cindy we might double our money in a couple years and she can stop working, overtime, for a week. LOL |

The stock market added a lot more money to 401(k) accounts in 2017, posting its biggest annual gain in four years and extending a bull market that began in 2009 and is now the second-longest in history. Powering the broad market's nearly 20% gain was an economic recovery that reached every corner of the globe. Rising GDP boosted corporate earnings, pushed consumer confidence to a 17-year high and slashed the jobless rate to its lowest level since 2000. Stocks, which finished mildly lower on the final trading day of the year, also got a late-year lift from the Trump administration's tax cut, which drastically lowered the rate U.S. companies pay and could make their businesses more competitive. The Dow Jones industrial average, an index of 30 blue-chip stocks, rose 25.1%. The Dow, which finished the year at 24,719.22, also posted 71 record highs, eclipsing its prior record of 69 from 1995. |
