Catfish's cat surfaces!

Interesting.....fan in front of radiator, door bezel on the drivers side floor.

Does the radiator look like it is angled back from straight up and down? He swore that leaning the radiator back away from a/c coil kept his car cool. But he said nothing of the pusher fan in front.....

Hood scoop not functional.... think it was a Ford,,,Torino or Mustang. 138K miles,,,,,many of which were in the desert heat.
---------------------------------------------------------------

That cat was the original MAC MOTORSPORTS R & D car in which most of their Prowler design parts were made for > front and rear suspension braces and Billy Boat exhaust cat-back system. MAC MOTORSPORTS later became STINGER-MAC, which made all of the GM/HUMMER aftermarket accessories for the HUMMER vehicles.

Catfish posted that it was functional, I have no idea if it was functional or not. I didn't think it was until I looked back and saw his posts. Maybe b.s.

Ed,,, If Jan made it functional, it was after the original installation.... One would not know since afterwards, he never opened his hood up at car shows or events... On the scoop he put the HEMI emblems ..... telling people that's what was under the hood.....he even went so far as to take a 5.7L plastic plenum cover,,fabricated it to fit over the top of the V6.

(grain of salt ?)

Maybe someone can ask the CraigList seller directly about a hole in the hood? Anything was possible with the Catfish...

V V V UPDATE EDIT: From the ad picture, it does look like a hole in the under-hood insulation pad:

,,,But the 5.7L plenum cover seems to be gone.....

**************************************************************

Ad says TITLE STATUS: CLEAN. I don't know what the current Michigan title says, but in ARIZONA the car had a Salvage Title ,,, due to frame damage.

When Catfish passed away, the car was put up for sale with a SALVAGED TITLE. If so, this car will be tough to sell, plus the high mileage.

Can't post pic, but I have an '01 Mustang GT hood scoop on my cat, that (if I recall correctly) fit the prowler hood contours/shape without mods, other than a few holes for the bolts/fasteners

First the steering becomes lose then you feel a sping feeling, more like clicking sound, trying to find the best word to describe it but can't, and finally you will feel the grind. If you were to get the ball joint wet and you have the grinding sensation, the ball joint will fail immediately. Thats my experience with the ball joint, had to pay for the first two ball joints becausr the recall was not out yet. Lots of miles on my cat, 175k, got lots of stories too!

Padroo wasn't posting a want ad to sell his car. It was just general Prowler talk.

Just a joking nod to Catfish, he frequently admonished people for posting in the wrong place.

That's the way I took it to mean,,,,after five seconds thinking about it, lol. It was spot on. Kind of miss the guy with his argumentive attitude and continually thinking he was right, even when at times he wasn't.....
