Master cyl. is full. Pads don't seem to be worn much at all. Rotors are not scratched or marked up. No leaks. It seems that I have to push the pedal farther down than usual. I don't need to pump the brakes and they don't fade .

Maybe the fluid needs changing?

Is this change in the brakes something that just occurred, or is it noticeable after you have driven another car? Could be your comparing vehicles??

Is the fluid a dark colour? Do you know if the system has been flushed? If not it should be changed because brake fluid will suck in moisture from the air over time. The rotors can also get glazed over and can be very lightly sanded.

Not in need of pumping just the pedal goes down farther than before. The brakes still work great. They are not spongy at all. Puzzling.

I've been wanting better looking rotors and ceramic pads anyway. I guess I'll get the S.S. lines and have it flushed out. It's nice to be upside down, now you can spend more and more money and stop worrying about value.

pedal would be harder.

id look at caliper/piston boots and see if they are damp with brake fluid...
could be an internal leak in the master cylinder...

An internal leak in the master cylinder would give you an idiot light.

Check the vacuum line running from the intake manifold and the check valve on the booster.

This deserves some investigation. From what I understand, when a booster fails it allows brake fluid to fill it while leaving no external sign of leaks.

If the master cylinder remains full, diagnosing the issue may be more difficult.

If the inside pads were worn more than expected, I might suspect brake hoses collapsing. They can look perfect from the outside because they deteriorate from the inside out.

I wish you a quick accurate solution.

No, not technical.
As we get older, and like it or not, we all do, the bones in our spine settle, and we become shorter, thus the need to push that ole break pedal "farther".

We recently bought a Kia Sorento, the brakes are so sensitive, all you have to do is think of applying them and you are jerked towards the windshield. If you feel your Prowler brakes are no longer working, that obviously is a different story but it may be it has just been too long between Prowler road trips! Hope it's nothing serious, best of luck with it.
