The one-off High Voltage Blue Prowler Mike owns is the most rare with no other prowler made that even resembles it...

I have wondered that also. It is the only black Chrysler Prowler built even though there were more black Plymouth Prowler built than any other color. I never heard anyone mention it before. |

AC That is the Howler Concept. I liked to get my hands on it. The one we are talking about is the only Black Chrysler Prowler ever built. HappyKat

I wonder if the trunk on the Howler opened up with the hard top on. Looks like a gen #1 top. |

Another equally rare prowler would be the concept prowler. Does anyone know where it is? |

I heard it was repainted Mulholland Blue. Some old guy in Tennessee has it and removed the bumpers. This message has been edited by Gort on 03-12-2015 at 05:23 PM |

The concept Prowler is kept in a Chrysler facility where they store the concepts and other archived vehicles used in the Chrysler Museum. When the Museum closed, they bought back all the vehicles. |

quote: I was pretty sure that it does but I could not find a picture of the actual car with the hardtop on and the trunk open. This brings an additional question to mind. Did it have a soft top? This is a picture of the die-cast replica.

Tom Gale still has the one off black Prowler specially built for him. Talked with a close friend of his at Autorama and he confirmed that the car is still in Bay Harbor. Mike's High Voltage Blue car has many very unique features from the taupe leather to the clear anodized frame. The Howler was interesting. Got to drive it a short distance on the complex once. The rule is you never beat up a concept car as they are hand built for show. They just happen to drive. |

It sounds like if they had a manual transmission like in the howler we would have a larger gas tank and at least some trunk space even with the regular sloped rear end of the prowler. Id be very curious why the prowler wasnt designed with the v8 and manual trans like the howler. It must have cost more, but I wonder how much. They probably would have sold better and the car would no longer get criticism for the v6. |

Next time you're in your car, with your feet, try to imagine a clutch down there also. It's so tight, it's almost unimaginable. Obviously they did it with the howler but that doesn't mean it was a good set-up. They must have done some fancy cutting to make it work. The prowler's pie shape has dictated a lot of things and that's why it is what it is. |

The Howler V8 makes 250 HP with 300 lb feet of torgue and the Prowler V6 make 253 HP with 255 lb feet of torgue. According to most articles 0-60 for a Prowler with the V6 was reported to be 5.8 seconds. There is not as much data on the Howler concept, however at least one article reported 0-60 in 5.9 seconds
I don't know if it's true or not but I have heard that Chrysler lost money on every Prowler the built. Keep in mind that dealers jacked up prices did not get back to Chrysler.
