There are now 3 ECMs BCMs available for purchase from Chrysler. I am waiting for the new part number & will post it here as soon as I get info. Prices were stated at my last post, minus any discounts you can get. Hopes this helps....

Excellent. It may be a wise decision (for those of us who will have the cars until they pry our cold, dead, fingers from the steering wheel) to buy one for anticipated future needs. I speak from experience having had one fail already.

Thanks for the info.

Chrysler has plans to keep these available for owners for a long duration. They realize most of these cars are still on the road, and may need these in the future. I would not panic & keep one in storage as moisture or anything else could damage them. You MUST supply your vin, & mileage when buying them as that info will be flashed into the computer when you purchase them.

phil, you said that your mileage would be flashed onto it when you buy it...that means that we CAN'T buy one for the future because when the day comes, it will be flashed with the wrong mileage and may not work correctly?

I am sure you could buy one, store it with the mileage you gave them, But any service records that are done on the car best jive with the mileage that's stated when you finally install it as they would know some kind of tampering has taken place. You might just luck out & your dealer where you order might not ask to flash it at the time of sale.. I don't believe at this time or near future that there will be a problem getting a replacement when needed, from what I have been told. There may be a week or two to order, but I was told they should be available.

I just purchased one...
Its put away for a rainy day. When installed they will flash it. That's a waste of money having it flashed if not going to use it right away.
Once you purchase it its yours to due what you want.

If someone NEEDS one now, they won't be able to get them due to folks buying one just in case.
The flip side is that Chrysler may see that there is a market and make more than what was initially planned.

This will be no different than the rear brake rotors. They will get bought up and tucked away...just-in-case. I know of a pair of rear rotors and an ECM tucked away in a garage after the owner passed away and the heirs not having a clue as to what they had.

People are worried about not being able to source critical parts and this just accelerated the issue. But more to the American way....only I count. JMO

It's also the reason vendors have been backing away from providing necessary parts. The audience is fragmented and anyone that does offer something gets beat up. Took another hard look at heater hoses but can't justify the investment based on the experience with radiator hoses.

I am only repeating what I have been told, as these computers will be available in the future, Chrysler will continue to make them for the Prowler. They are made by a company in Florida & will continue to be made. The only slow downs that are expected is, you might have to order & possibly wait up to two weeks for delivery , but will be available. The same company also makes computers for other Chrysler models. I believe it would be safe to say, order when you need it unless you feel differently.

As far as hoses, That is a whole different story. This is one item that is NO longer available, Members here should be stocking up on a set as some of the hoses in this kit cannot be found. I bought my set from Bob several years ago & are vacuum sealed and stored for future use. Might want to jump on this as Bob may not want to make more, and when the time comes to replace your hoses, you will be wishing you had.

Bob, Do you plan of making the complete set of hoses again as these are impossible to find. I bought my set from you several years ago & are packed away till needed. Lots of new Prowler owners now, maybe you could consider making another run as these cars are now 15 years old and most are going to need them soon.

I have sets of the upper and lower radiator hoses for the '99 to '02's available. I made the statement that I would sell them for $62 per set including shipping to the lower 48 states if purchased before 12/31/14. The standing price is $69.95.

I would offer the set of unique molder heater hoses if there is sufficient demand. So far only a few people have expressed any interest.

If they are out of production and impossible to find then I would be interested in a set. I will probably reach out for the radiator hoses in the spring when the car gets pulled out again.

I'll start a list of people that would like the heater hoses. Please be aware that it takes quite a number of purchasers to make it possible. When you're ready for radiator hoses, let me know.

All owners should realize the age of these cars, Bob has made these before and offered them here. There are a few of these hoses that are special & they will be very hard if not impossible to find. I would hope he can get the minimum order required to get these. Remember some are 1 of a kind hoses, and this might just be your last chance to get them.
