Would a pilot car have more value? Is this the first time a pilot car was sold? I thought pilot cars were never sold to the public |

If memory serves, there were five Black Tie cars that may have been considered "Pilot" or maybe pre-production vehicles? I would not be surprised that this was done for the Woodward cars as well. My two cents worth would be that there would need to be some sort of documentation provided by Chrysler corporation indicating the car was as advertised. According to facts and stats there were two Woodward pilot cars built. It is my understanding that these were sold to the public as were 5 Black Tie pilots. These are production cars but just not hand striped by DR Ru. As to whether that makes them more valuable that would be open to discussion.

Here is Mike's description in the Owners Registry 'This is the original pilot Woodward, built for the Detroit Auto Show and one of only two unsigned and unnumbered by Dr. Ru.' A couple of old post on the car. This message has been edited by stevedymo on 05-06-2013 at 07:18 PM |
