Looks like the majority rules. The majority of the posts for an extended period of time have to do with our dysfunctional government and the state of the economy. I must have been confused. I actually thought that this was a car site/club. This site is as divided as our country. I just don't have the energy anymore to sort through this on a daily basis and the next year will be unbearable. I wish you all well and personally thank each and everyone that participated in the various group purchases. Without you it wouldn't have been possible. Can't say if I'll return, but I need a big break. If someone needs assistance with their car, please feel free to email me at boblongstreth@comcast.com or give me a call at 248-425-7920. I'll do my best to help. I don't plan to pickup private messages so use this contact information. Best of luck to all. |

No, Bob please don't do this. The site will not be the same without you and your help. Your advise and knowledge of the Kats is something none of us want to do without. I sold both my Kats but am in the process of buying another as I write this. Should be done by Saturday, I really miss them. People like you are the reason this site is so great. Please reconsider and ignore all the political stuff and focus on the car stuff and stay with us. |

I don't get it. Can't you just stay away from the political and off topic forums? The general discussion, technical, classified, performance/appearance and repro parts forums rarely have political or state of the economy posts. |

I certainly understand your frustration as I have similar feelings. Because of repercussions by a few on this site I have thought twice about even posting on this or any subject. A few bad apples can ruin a good bushel (the POA is a fine example). Some choose to comment regularly but contribute very little when it comes to the Prowler. The personal bashing of fellow members must cease. The monitoring of this site does not exist...at least not as it once was. Very frustrating as I once loved this site. I know just how you feel, Bob....There's a restaurant (it specializes in great hamburgers and fries) that has been my favorite for years and years..... I go there often because of their great burgers. I just found out that they also have liver and onions on their menu...And it turns out that a bunch of their customers actually like liver and onions..... But I don't.....So I've decided to never go back there for burgers and fries again..... |

Bob: I know where you are coming from. I hope you stay on as I know you have a wealth of information on Prowlers and the integrity that goes with it. You will be greatly missed if you follow through on this decision. |

Like so many others I am sorry to hear you are no longer going to be posting. I think the political off topics section is just a reflection of the mood of the country. I often have complete strangers bring up the subject in conversation. That may be more prevalent here in the south because the majority is conservative. I won't say anymore here because this is not the correct forum for politics. However with that said I am not sure that if the political forum was dropped completely, that the other forums posting would then significantly increase. The car has been out of production now for 9 years. New and/or innovated after market mods have basically ceased. Prowler events are fewer. With the exception of an occasional problem.(many of which are experienced by new owners and have been covered before# and some people getting custom paint jobs. The new Prowler topics for discussion are becoming pretty limited. I do agree the personal attacks need to stop. We should be able to discuss any topic without getting personal about it. Realistically that is probably not in our human nature. There have been many flare ups over purely Prowler discussions. But I agree that politics has caused a significant increase. Here is what I propose. Let's put a moratorium on political posts. It would have to last for at least a month to be a good indicator. Let's see how that effects the overall mood on the POA and also on the volume of other topics. For me effective today I will not post anything political for 1 month. #until Dec 4th) If the results are positive I will cease altogether. But this will only work if everyone participates . |

I agree, i am a newbie on this site and have not even been in that section, mostly because i am not from the USA but i am sure you have the same problems we have in the UK, but i joined this site because i enjoy talking to people about the Prowler and to see what others have done to their cars, not to slag off other people the world is bad enough as it is without bringing it on to the site, as my father said to me "Treat others the way you would like to be treated" it costs nothing to have respect and manners for your fellow prowler owners, it's one of the few things in this life that costs nothing. I am sure most would like it removed. |

Many other car sites don't have a Political forum. Actually i only know of one other car site that has a political forum. A political discussion forum only serves the purpose of arguing/fighting along with people who are not happy with the economy plus many others things. |

Political forum. What is that? I have never went to it I check in daily, sometimes more than once, don't post much anymore. Hate to see Bob deciding not to post. He is one of our BEST resources here or anywhere for the Prowler. His involvement from the beginning of the project to almost 10 years past the last production vehicle being built and then the help and assistance he has given is PRICELESS Stay in touch and come back when you feel up to it. Thanks Bob for everything ------------------ |

Hi Mike K, Please "KILL" the Political Off Topic thread. Two other things: 1) When someone post something to sell, leave his posting alone. They are exercising their right to post an item for sell. So many people want to pipe in " hey, look over here, it's cheaper. 2) When another vendor comes on here and offers a new product "LET THEM" Case in point, the guy with the brake covers. That guy and his company were so pissed off by the comments from here, they just shut the thread down. Not to mention, he was offering a really really nice product. I used to check in several times a day and posted alot but now maybe once a month unless I get a pm email alert. As the car gets older it is even more relevant that we have access to options to fix it. These cars will continue to be bought and sold and new owners will need information and bring new ideas to the site. It's been stated that we just not look so by not stopping here I don't have to. My contributions have stopped also. |
