I still check in on the site often, but I don't post like I used to and I never post pics anymore after an incident in 2008. The site is a valuable resource, it just needs to get back to the cars and cut the extraneous stuff.

same here.... don't even look at the Political things... I come here for the car info and to read what friends are posting about the car, also to help new owners with questions. Your a good guy Bob, try not to get discouraged with the BS...

I try to look at this site everyday, but I have noticed I don't post as much, maybe because work and home stuff is so busy lately. I know I don't take the cars out very much right no, but I really need to change that.

I occasionally look at the political stuff, but just for a laugh, kinda like the test and take it outside forums!

Gee, I never saw this coming...

It's a shame that people can't post their feelings/opinions without being made fun of. Let me ask a question.....

Have you ever had a bad day? A bad week? Do you get frustrated? Do you sometimes need to vent to people you thought were your friends???

I don't see anywhere in Bob's post (and I didn't even see it until I got onto POA Friday night at the cottage) that he suggested the political forum be dumped. Yes, none of us have to read that forum. I check it out because it gives me information that I may have not seen otherwise to ponder and make my own decisions about. I do, however, agree that the nastiness that arises in that forum gets to be a bit much....and unnecessary. Yes, politics and religion do bring out the worst in people.

We've had a really tough year with regard to the number of family and friends who have passed away. 13 and counting just this year. His sister, my sister and lots of friends (POA and life-long). It has made us stop and think about what is really important in life. Some of the BS that goes on here certainly is not. I'm not speaking for Bob, but I think that part of the frustration comes from the disrespect to each other that is shown. Life (as we have experienced this year) is way too short.

Sometimes people need a break and that's all he was expressing. In the meantime, maybe everyone should think about some of the behavior shown here. Joking around and teasing is harmless and fun, but some of it gets very personal and out of hand. Some of you recognized Bob for all he has contributed to this site and you're right........he has. A little understanding goes a long way.

This has always been a great site and I hope it continues to be, as we have made a great number of friends here just from owning my Prowlers. We value them a lot.

Bob, You cannot bailout now, I just go aquainted with you in Detroit. We do not need to be loosing friends from this site, we need to delete the part of the site that is offensive!. I never look at the Political section, because I know that I will not agree with a lot of it. Remember, this is a car club, and that is what it should be, ONLY!

Every website I visit that has a message board has some sort of political section. Whether related to cars, boating off-roading and whatever else, they all seem to have it.

It's no different than having an "off-topic" section, which they all have also. This site is not an exception. Let's face it: there is only so much Prowler related stuff to talk about. You can only discuss grilles, waterfalls, tires and all of that for so long. Sooner or later, it's good to talk about other things and get exposed to the viewpoints of people who have similar interests. Inevitably, that includes politics.

Taking away the political section will only ensure that the political talk bleeds into the off-topic section(s). At least now you have a warning titled, "Polictical Off Topic."

I'm always amused by people who have advanced notice or a warning of sorts telling them what they are about to see if they choose to proceed, go there anyway, and then complain about it. It's ridiculous, really. That's like ignoring the signs around a shooting range, going in there anyway, getting shot, and then calling for the range to be closed.

You have a choice of what links to click on while you are bouncing around on the Internet. If you don't like politics and get offended when that talk takes place, then you might be wise not to click on the "Political Off-Topic" link. Those of you who are calling for Mike to "kill" the political forum have the ability to "kill" it yourselves. Just don't click on that link.

I really don't understand what is so hard about this.

Well, then there is always the option for the frustrated person to request a vote of the membership to be banned from the site ... oh wait, that was done before

Not refering to you of course, Bob ... you know where I stand with regard to your presence here, as well as to ALL those that bring value, knowledge, and trusted experience to a discussion...

This thread was started by BOB ( i believe he is the frustrated person so he left the site for a bit). He said what he had to say. I spoke to him also so i know where he stands. Someone needs to reread some posts.

Another good, positive CAR person takes a break from the idiotic notion that political, or religious post belong on a car club web site.
Pretty soon the only ones left will will be in two groups. One will be the fools that make those imbecilic posts, and the other half trying to keep it a car club. Oh wait, that's what it is now.

Ought to change the name of site.
Hope to see you in Vegas Bob.

So who forced him to click on the Political Off-Topic forum?

If you can prevent yourself from visiting this site, you can prevent yourself from visiting the Political Off-Topic forum just as easily. Both are just a matter of clicking the mouse.

I haven't changed Rich. I have stated these opinions for a long time. I have always valued yours, and others contributions concerning the prowler. I think I probably used harsher language in the past.

My opinions are nothing new, and as you can see I am not alone, many others are leaving, have left, no longer post, or just plain don't like to see it on a car site. No matter if there is a separate forum for it, and you do have to CLICK on it to view. It does carry over to the other forum areas. It's really too bad, but life goes on elsewhere.
I know nothing will change, and it is destined to get worse with the upcoming elections. But if people believe these post are not mean sprinted, cut to the bone of one's belief, even when masked with jokes, and humorous passages, well then they truly are fools and delusional.

It's the club's loss when people leave, not the other way around.
