For $55K I'd expect a few less miles! This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 08-05-2011 at 08:19 PM |

I'd like to take it around the block for a test drive, but that would double the miles on the car. |

About 18 months ago they, or the used car dealer right next door to them, had a Candy Prowler for sale with 8K miles. They wanted $40K. I understand it did not sell and went to one of the major auctions in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Never heard what it sold for. Of course the dealer that is selling this gold Prowler specializes in Ferrari and Lamborghini. |

Could be he thinks it is real gold ... That "last Prowler sold at $175k" ... is that Mike's High Voltage blue ... a littl emisleading really, as that was a charitable auction, not an outright sale. |

The best I can figure my '97 was in the range of the first 50. I have the original bill of sale where the car sold for $83,000. Remember in the beginning they were a high price hot item and everyone wanted one. |

quote: No it's not. The first one sold to the public sold to a guy in California. It sold for over $100K but not that high. However 2 that I know of did sell for $141K. I have it written down but not digging it up. I think they were sold in New York and Philly. My research shows the 97's sold for average price nationally for $111K and locally for average $90K. Unless you knew someone to get a deal it was hard to buy one for under $60K the first year. I know what Mike paid for his first one but won't disclose that info. They delivered 5 to Houston and I know what they all sold for. |

quote: iDive ... I believe he may be referring to the Auburn Auction of the first Prowler ... not sure if it was first produced car, first car for public sale or what, but I do recall this Auburn car fetching a pretty high price, upwards of $140k, which in turn kinda then set the trend for may dealers to "gauge" customers on the '97's and early '99's too! |

A 9 year old car that has only been driven 8 miles. I predict this car will have a boatlaod of issues once someone starts driving it. |

Many of the original 1997 Prowlers sold from $50 to $100K. Even the '99's and '00's,,,,some dealers were getting $60 to $75K for them in big markets, with impulse buyers.
To the right buyer,,,I think this gold cat will go for $40K. |
