Am I the last Prowler in Houston?????? Where have all the Texas Prowlers gone? In the past I would see a prowler every day here in Houston. Now I cannot remember when I saw the last prowler. I drive mine a lot these days, trying to keep all loose and running. I know it has been very very hot here and weather not so dependable.. But let's get out and drive. If not the day maybe the early afternoon into the night...Then it would be cooler.. Maybe a run to Galveston for dinner or Kemah, or anywhere.. Let's put something on the Texas calendar... Jim |

Every time we invite you you cancel out. Then you move away to someplace in Egypt. No wonder you don't see them around anymore. I'm still trying to get my fuel pump installed. Dealer keeps cancelling out on me then the tech left. I can't find him anywhere. I haven't seen anyone out and about in a good while myself, but I was out and about this past weekend for a little while. Y2K... I only have 2 and they're both the same color. LOL. Yes Mike Krehel, the site administrator has a couple more than I have. But he only drives them 1/4 mile at a time. |

Hey Jim, I'm in for a real Texas Prowler Outing! We didn't have the Blue Bonnet Cruise this year, so it would be nice for the Texas Prowler Owners to get together. If you need some help putting it together let me know. I live on the west side of Houston. BTW - Sunshine, I'm sure would be ready for a Texas Prowler get together! Hey Jim, with this being the second hottest summer ever on record here, we haven't had the cars out for any shows, or anything for that matter! Before the 100 degrees started, it seemed that we were getting rained on every day. Hopefully things will cool off over the next few weeks and we all can meet up. ------------------ |

Mickey,,,,Its not rocket science,,,it doesn't take a Prowler tech to install a fuel pump on these cars. Find a Dodge dealer with a good Viper tech,,,,if that will make you feel better about it.

Hi it is me Jim, I wanted to see if the TEXAS group had forgot about their Kat's in the garage. I know I left mine in there to long. You are right Tom about with the heat here hitting 100's a lot and August a record month here. My car got so pissed off it started hurting it self, split seat and low battery. So to stop this I drove it and all is better now. So let me see if I can put something together for fun .. I opt for a Saturday afternoon .. I know there must be 50 prowlers in the Houston area. I was thinking everyone was selling to the north Houston car dealer stocking up on prowlers... I was hoping this post would rouse the Texan's blood and get them out of their cool places.... I want to see all the Houston prowlers post here to let me know that prepping a road trip would not be a waste of time.. When I hook up with the regulars there is always the same 6-7 cars, let see those elusive prowler... Let's hear from you. I would also like to make a new e-mail list, so if you would PM me your details and I will distribute a new e-mail list of all that still have the new cars.... Everyone that replies will get the e-mail list when complete. If you would include your phone number year color and any other details you would like to share that would be great..

I am actually working on all the Kats this weekend, getting them ready for a show in Caldwell next Saturday that Jason, Kim & the kids are going to with me. AccuWeather is showing that things are forecasted to cool down pretty well, so I hope we can get them out more. The last show we planned on going to a couple weeks ago was expecting over 100 cars, but due to the heat and humidity, less that a dozen showed up. We didn't go either. Can't have any fun when the heat index is 116 and 100% humidity!!! |

quote: Larry - I already tried that. I have a Dodge dealership right around the corner from me (I was told my tech had gone there - but I'm finding out he has not). When I went in there looking to buy a vehicle (several times) in the past, the sales crew, every one of them, including the sales manager, were all extremely rude. When I have gone in there looking for parts, the parts people have been absolutely no help and very rude. When I went to the service department it took forever for one of the standing around advisors to talk to me. When they finally did, they were rude in their attitude. I asked if they had a Viper Tech and was told they did. I said I wanted to talk to him when he was free. I was not allowed to. I wanted to insure that the Viper tech worked on my Prowler. I was told any of their techs can work on my car. I wanted to make an apointment to bring the car in and wait on it, since it would only take an hour or so to install the pump. I was told they will not make an apointment. I have to bring my car in and leave it. They will have one of their techs get to it when they can. Obviously this dealership has no interest in selling cars, parts, or servicing cars, so I take my business elsewhere. With all the dealership closures in Houston surrounding the bailout, my choices are limited. I have called every Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealership in Houston. Most of them didn't know what a Prowler tech was but said any of their mechanics can work on my car. A couple asked what a Prowler was. One had extrememly negative feedback online from not working on your car for a week, to stealing things out of your car. Only 2 of them acknowledge having Prowler Techs. Only the one near me I just talked about had a Viper Tech. One of the other 2 dealers wouldn't work on my Prowler the last time I had it in there (for the fuel pump). I have already paid $85 towards labor at the other remaining dealership (where my tech WAS). This is to go toward the install of the Prowler fuel pump. I was told that if I could track down my preferred tech, that maybe he could assist in seeing to it that the $85 will go toward the install. Chrysler is to re-imburse me for the part but only if I have a Chrysler Dealership do the install, otherwise I would find the tool and do it myself. The dealership where I have been going for all this makes an apointment to do the work and when I get there, keeping the apointment, they tell me they can't do it and that I have to leave it for another day or 2. I've been down there 3 times just since I got the pump for them to put in. I was there 2 other times for them to determine it was in fact the pump and not something else. I wanted the same tech to work on it since he knows exactly what needs to be done and what the car was doing before so he can adequately determine its been resolved without further testing/guessing. I know... I have the part. Go there and just tell them to put it in. Will the guy be able to test drive it after the install and be able to compare to what he noticed before? Or would he have to spend time testing it again before installing? I wasn't asking for a rocket scientist to install it. I was just wanting to have the same guy do the work IF POSSIBLE. I like him and trust him. I'm not real sure I would trust the Dodge dealership around the corner who would have his make ready install my pump since its such an easy job to do. If I can't manage to find my tech, its back to more cancelled after the fact apointments at the original dealership. As far as I know Fred still has his car but I seriously doubt he drives it at all anymore due to health issues. Jim - I have a fairly updated list of Prowler owners in our area. I will send you what I have. Some of them may not be any good anymore as what I go off of is one of Fred's list from a while back. I have never updated that list with one from one of his last event mailings. I still have his emails and could send one of THOSE lists to you as well and you could compare and condense it if you like. Let me know if you want THAT list. In the meantime, I will send you the list I go by. It has SOME phone numbers, SOME addresses, and is marked with what I know to be preferred email addresses (when there are different addresses for one person) and some of the bad addresses are also marked, tho the people remain on the list. |

Sorry to hear of Fred's health situation,,,,I was unaware of that. To get immediate attention at that dealership,,,go to the GM and say your cousin is Ralph Gilles, President and C.E.O. for the Dodge Division of Chrysler,,,,and you'd like to speak with the Viper tech or the parts mgr. Works for me |

Maybe your post (or the weather!) is stirring the pot, but I spotted one on the road for the first time all summer today, an Inca in West U. - It wasn't Radcat, but don't know who it was. |

If the weather holds, we will have the entire collection on display at the Street & Classic Car Show in Caldwell at the Kolache Festival on Saturday September 11. It has rained out for the last two years, but even in pouring rain last year, they had over 100 cars show! Normally there are 250+ cars on display at the Davidson Creek Park. The Kolache Festival is a few blocks away in Downtown Caldwell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33Es30oln68 ------------------ |

Ok Now that we have been indicated with rain for the last 3 days and seen more than 3" a day at our new house.. we lived in our old home for 16 years and never had a issue with rain, Leave the house for even a week and see what happens. The old house has gotten some water in it so we will be working on cleaning the mess up this weekend.. I relay this to this group due to the invite to cruise this weekend. I would have been very upset with myself for having to back out like this. But Since Denise was the only to reply. I know this size group we can do this another week real soon. So for those who want to cruise I will plan a cruise Saturday September 25, I will advise of the details later this week. will be fun,, Jim |

Jim - next time you leave your house for a week, close the doors and windows. I thought you had sold it. You know what's going to happen this weekend... it's going to be nice and sunny but Tom won't be able to pull his garage out of his yard without sinking 2 feet. (Now I need to go tell Johnny this weekend is out.) I still can't believe Tom actually told us about a car show BEFORE it happens. Talk about shock and awe! He must have run outta room for tropheys. |
