I'm looking for opinions.... I'd like to put some ghost flames or silver/opal flames on my yellow prowler. My husband feels that customizing the car could make it harder to sell if we decide to later ( If I ever plan to?)I like the look and I like mine to be different. What do you think ~Mary |

Mary, As an owner of a slightly modified Kat, here are a couple of thoughts you can embrace. Short answer : it yours - have fun, you may not live long enough to worry about it. |

Mary, I do mine different every year or so. I've had my car 7 years and have had 3 different set's of flames on it. This year I'm going back to stock till my mods get done for next year. I like changing it and it is always fun, So try something if you don't like it, Go back.. JMO ------------------ |

Flames on a hotrod?? What a great idea Mary! I've been considering it myself... but I also like the look af the stock paint job. Maybe you should consider a custom-painted bra with flames (or any other custom design you prefer). That way you can have flames whenever you want, or NOT! Check these links for more info..... the flames on the bra is a good deal, that way you can change it when ever you want.the nicest ghost flames on a yellow cat are on al beckers, very subtle, yet nice.if al becker doesnt chime in,contact curt stall,cstall@cox.net,he can get a hold of al and maybe post some photos.the final look you want to achive is up to you. ------------------ |

The painted bra is a good idea. There is also vinyl flames you can stick on for a temporary look as well. |

Does anyone have a bra on their prowler? Does it scratch the car? or do anything to the paint? I had one on my Camaro and it messed up the paint job. |

if you leave the bra on for a extended time, lets say 2 months and never clean under the edges, which is where the dust and grit forms its possible to end up with small scratches which will buff out.if you leave it on for a year and never clean under it,its possible.the prowler bra fits tight, the scratches youre talking about, may also come from a loose fit,it will flap in the wind if too loose. ------------------ |

As a woman, you should already be aware that a loose bra tends to cause flapping. That will easily scratch the paint. Beyond that, if you drive in the rain with the bra on, you should take it off and let it dry. Some have left it on after it gets wet and have had some paint clouding issues. Don't let this info deter you from getting one. Just some issues you should be aware of in making your decision. |

It is this girl's preference to drive my Kat both Braless as well as topless. It's simply more fun that way.... Yes mine has flames on it, under the hood and inside the car too. (photo's in my scrap book) This message has been edited by alrtg on 04-18-2009 at 09:02 PM |

I wish I would have know about Rehoboth.... I didn't have my Kat yet, But I would have loved to see them. I've been wanting this car for years and finnally found the one I wanted. They are not that easy to find on the east coast unless you are willing to really travel for them. I don't have alot of time to travel. I'm in the Marine Business, so this is getting to be very bizy time of the year Is there many people on here fom this area? |

Welcome aboard Mary... I'm a past patron of the vinyl decals, and now a firm believer in custom paint... but that's just me. Either way works great as long as YOU like it You are very fortunate to be in the middle of the EAST COAST POSSE... a great fine chapter of the POA. Ask "MeanGene" above and I'm sure he'll get you going on all their local events... the boardwalk & the lighthouse runs being two of their more well-known gatherings. Enjoy yourself. |

GenoTex, Are they Ghost Flames on your yellow prowler? I think that what I'm leaning towards?? I have done the decals before and this time I think I'm leaning more towards a nice custom paint job, Just want to be sure of what I want. You know us women - Can't make up our mind. |

Mary.......I'm a gal who likes flames on her car, too! Mine are painted, but I do have 3M film on the nose (front and sides) and the fenders. It protects remarkably well! As far as value....I don't think it lessens it. There have been many highly modified (and flamed) cars that have sold (and I've had several offers to buy my car). Pumpkin is right......it's your car..do what you want and don't worry about it. Those who do mods/paint are doing it to make it unique to themselves.
