Was wondering pros and cons of front mudflaps? Rears seem a non issue!

They definitely help keep the sides cleaner and prevent rock chips in the paint. I put the rears on to help prevent rock chips on my trailer, if I didn't pull the Prowler trailer I wouldn't have installed them.

I preferred no front mudflaps because I removed the front fenders altogether. The side of the car did get dirtier but no chips on the sides.

Front, yes by all means.
Keeps some of the rock chips off the side of the car.
Rear, yes.
Fills in the open spot, goes with the front.

Like Piddler said..... your car will definitely benefit from splash guards, and they aren't really expensive; usually less than $30 a pair from a Mopar dealer. And, I will go ahead and mention that you may end up wanting to trim the fronts just a bit shorter as they tend to drag when turning and such. Also, be careful when backing up over threshholds such as at garage doors... if the flaps are really low, they can get pinched between the tire and the threshhold and may bend the fender brace if you force it. The fender mounting holes in the spindles are a bit larger than the mounting studs on the fender brackets, so it might help clearance-wise to loosen the fender nuts and raise/tilt the fenders forward to achieve the most clearance between the rear bottom edge of the fender and the ground then tighten everything back up..... at least all that worked for me.

Definitely cheap insurance.

I didn't bother with the rears. I think the kats rear looks better without them.

My experience -

My first ever 'run' with my Prowler...1300 miles each way to meet up with a bunch of wonderful Texans for a 100 mile or less run... then back the 1300 miles to home...with no flaps.

Cost of run? - three chips (still there) in paint in lower door/rocker area.

Installed mudflaps...not one chip since, 38K+ miles.
Easy enough?

Insofar as the rear flaps ... just helps (though it does not eliminate) with the mud on the backs of the rear bumpers as far as I can tell... making cleaning a bit easier

edit to add:
Insofar as trimming...if I were you (and I'm not!) I would simply adjust each front fender as far forward as possible then 'not trim' the flaps. Most likely if you measure your front fenders you will find they are not the same distance from the ground anyway! (run a measuring stick at the back of each front fender to the ground. - you'll be surprised!)

I purchased front mud flaps for my KaT. In preparing to install them I discovered there is a noticeable difference in the position of the fenders relative to the distance from the ground to the rear edge of the fender. The driver side fender has 7" of clearance the passenger side fender has 6" of clearance. Has any of you noticed this with your Kats? Is there enough play in the mounting bolts to account for this. I would like to increase the passenger side fender clearance before installing the flaps.
Any thoughts or ideas?

I have flaps on both front and rear of the kat along with the trailer. It definitely helps with the splashing. I did not trim my front flaps so I do have to be careful with speed bumps and curbs.

I'm all for the mud flaps! JMO, but helps keep down the rock/stone chips. I've never trimmed mine and have had no problems. You just have to be wary of speed bumps, etc.

Fronts required to keep from getting stone chips. I never trimmed mine, but I did cut a slit in the middle so they give and bend nicely over speed bumps without the flap trying to rip the fender off.
