-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a 6 car and a 2 car garage that I am trying to finish out. I want both of them to look like a show room when finished. Having the concrete floors polished seems to be the best solution as far as maintance and a perminate finish. The problem is the available stain colors are not as bright as I would like. Open to suggestions!!!! Ken |

Ken, this stuff isn't cheap, in fact very expensive, but looks good and will stand up to anything. http://www.stonhard.com/ Click on the products and look for Stonclad GS. 12 colors Check out "Applications" to see it in use. |

I had mine epoxy coated and loved it, get the color you want, have a logo or whatever in it, easy to clean and as shiney as you want Mine was to be 2 coats epoxy and a coat of clear for UV protection. The clear he used was from a bad batch so it ended up with 2 epoxy, one clear and then anothe epoxy and clear on top to seal the bad clear. 2 years and no problems, looked as good as the day he finished it. The bad part is that I had to mop the floor to keep it clean.........LOL I really felt it made it another room in the house instead of just a garage here is a link to the thread when I got it done |

I painted my garage with the epoxy mix from Menards. It looks great and is very durable. Took two gallons to do a large, three car garage. Easy to apply and work with. |

Mine is a mixture of Royal Blue Metallic, Dodge White, Gray primer, wax (slung from the buffer) and old oil. Gives it that "garage" look. |

Hi all, I thought I would get this one to the top and attempt to keep track of everyone's suggestions. I searched through all the posts on this subject and came up with 3 basic alternatives. 1) Ceramic Tile 2) Race Deck panels 3) Epoxy. I've found a less expensive version of the panel idea at http://www.floorjunkies.com/ at $1.79 /sq. ft. it deserves further research. (compared to Racedeck at $4.49-$4.99/sq. ft. Does anyone have experience with this Flooring vendor? Thanks for your help! Scott |

Genaddi had their floor epoxy coated, wears well. Price seems fair.. My favorite floor finish that I have seen was a staining and epoxy overcoat on the floors in the lobby of the Opryland Hotel in Tennessee.. looked amazing! Just watch the finish so it doesn't get slick.. |

UPDATE!!! We have been experimenting with Epoxy and Urethane finishes on my 2 car garage for two months now. Still not satisfied with results even though it has been close to spectacular on a couple for occasions. I have invested a great deal of money into this project and can't afford to quit now. Will keep you posted on the progress. We tried diamond polishing the floors earlier and it did not yield the finish I was looking for. Ken |

quote: Ken if you want a professional looking floor, Hire one. I had mine done and loved the look. The epoxy was good enough for me, acrylic is better since you can drive on it 30 min after application. Problem is the cost about 5X more than epoxy. Empty the area out, have the guy come in and shot blast the floor, fill any cracks and seams, apply the color and flake of your choice, logo too and be done with it. Easy to clean, resist chemical spills and oil for easy clean up. Good Luck |

Used floor junkies for the floor in my trailer. Looks great. The only problem I have with it is I slide an aluminum frame in and out from under the cars and this is scratching it up some. Would probably work well in a garage. This message has been edited by DublinOH on 12-19-2007 at 12:05 PM |

Would some of you guys post some photos of your garage floors that have been completed? I am ready to do something with my garages. I have a three car garage, a two car garage, and a two bay shop at my home. Photos would surely help me. Thanks! |
