Trying to set up a traveling katavan to Woodward.

I'm leaving on Wednesday morning, time is flexible.
In the past we have met at the first rest area on 94 in Michigan. I know at least 1 other person is talking about a wednesday travel date.

Anyone want to join in.

Rob,

I will be leaving thursday also, so I would be happy to join you for the drive. What time do you think you will be hitting the road? I will be coming down I94 from Racine Wi.

Looks like it could be you(Paul B), me, Gene and Dixie(Firecat) depending on what time you think you could make the rest area Wednesday morning. I don't think Rick has made up his mind yet.

Have you got a possible time in mind Paul?

How were the toll roads last year Gene, and do you remember how much you spent in tolls?

Jesse sold the kat, I don't think he's coming. Rick says he is. Send Jesse (RED5) a pm and try to get him to come, I've been telling him to go, but he has not answered either way.

Brian, the tolls round trip for us were only about $12.00!!!! The road is much better and only about 1/2 the number of trucks. We think it is $12.00 well spent. They have food & fuel plaza's which save lots of time from getting off the interstate. Let us know when you plan on leaving so we can hook-up. Gene & Dixie

How are the toll booths, that is the part I always hate.
Almost totaled the cat last year going around Chicago. I pretty sure I flat spotted the tires trying to keep from hitting some idiot.

Trying to get the Chicago crew to commit to a meeting time and then figure back from there. We would need to come up with a new meeting place if the chicago crew also wants to run the toll roads. I'm trying to not leave before 5 this year. Its about 210 miles to the old meeting place. I'm open on times.

Brian, well the toll booths did not seem to be as bad as around the Chicago area. With that said, I guess anytime you are near the toll booth some nut could cut in front of you. I am not sure if you can use an I-pass on this section of I-80. Since we do not have an I-pass we need to stop and pay the tolls. It just did not seem as bad as the booths on I-294 near Chicago. I'll try the toll toad this year if most of the group is on board with the toll road. It's about 25 miles farther on the toll road. Just need Paul to jump in with his travel plans and we can set something up.

I'll post this link on the other side also and see what we can get.

I think I am going to leave Chicago on Wednesday afternoon & spend the night at our cottage in lower Michigan. If anyone wants to leave at that time I have a few spare rooms. Or if you want to meet up in Michigan on Thursday morning & want a place to meet up, let me know. The cottage is only about 10 miles out of the way.

Looks like right now most of the people that have responded want to run the indiana and ohio toll roads.

How does an 8:30 meeting time around portage indiana sound to everyone?

Someone is going to have to come up with a good meeting place as I am not familiar with the area.

Sorry, but I have dropped out of Woodward.

However, the route I was taking through Chicago was via 294. I hope that helps. Have fun everyone.
