Hey - anyone ever seen the swaworski crystal blocks with 3-d images inside them? I'm located right now near their biggest competitor (same stuff 30% lead crystal) and was thinking about getting a Prowler done, maybe get a group purchase done. Anyone have a 3D image of a prowler that I could send to the Asfour factory and see if they can make it up for us ?? |

I had one made here in the So. Cal area. It came out fantastic. I gave them the design I wanted, my car, the kat and the Plymouyh Prowler lettering and they did it perfect. It cost me $40.00 with the lighted stand. They are beautiful. I met the guy at a swap meet, he sold hundreds of different crystals, he was from Fresno and comes down occasionally for the Corvette Swap meet at the Fairplex in Pomona. This was about a year ago, we sold the Vette so we don't go anymore, so I don't know if he is still around. It is worth every penny I paid, it is a one of a kind having our car in it. Good luck, hope others can get one and enjoy it as much as we enjoy ours. |

Yeah, I can get all that done here (Egypt) and probably for some unbelievably cheap prices (I'm thinking $20 or less with any volume). I just need to get the files to get a sample done. Now did they do yours 2-D or 3-D? 2-D would be pretty easy, but I'd like 3-D full image left/right/front/back/top/bottom of the car. For that I think I'll need to get a full 3-D scan, or I think maybe next time I come here, I can bring one of the Maisto cars and give to them to use as a model. |

My wife and I have a crystal with a rose laser etched inside it. It is very cool! BTW, in case anyone is looking into the actual brand name, its Swarovski. Most people pronounce it Sa-WOR-ski, but its actually pronounced Swor-OV-ski. (Only reason I know is that my wife sells Swarovski crystal and tells me all the variations people use to pronounce it.) |

Yeah, that's right (Swarovski). Well, looks like I'm leaving here in 2 weeks and without a 3D image or a sample for them to 3D scan .... I think it'll have to wait till my next trip here probably in October. I'll make sure I bring a sample prowler with me then, seems like there's plenty of interest so I'll put it on my to-do list. I'll post back later when I get ready and see what we can do about a group purchase. Although, I think what would be best is probably the 3D car with just the word "PROWLER" beneath it. Anyhow, I'll keep the board posted. |

Hard to believe anything Swarovski is only $ 20. I will take one even if it is a cheap knock off of Swarovski. |

Hey - not taking orders (just yet) just wanted to feel if people were interested, which I think the answer is YES. Someone has offered to send a model prowler that I will take to the crystal factory to see what they can do for us. After that, I'll make a formal announcement so that everybody that wants one (or more) can have them. |

I'll take one. I had one made of our three kids and I think my wife thinks it is one of her best Christmas presents ever. Very striking in person. This message has been edited by Kevin A on 06-03-2006 at 07:09 AM |

thanks - obviously there's interest. I was guessing on pricing earlier, but really have no clue. I have a model here now and am making plans to visit the factory and hopefully meet with an engineer that does these things early this next week. Will keep you all posted. Thoughts to consider, assuming I'm able to get this project rolling ... |
