Trying to see if any one out there knows where to locate some ball joints for 2000 Prowler.Drivers side bottom,dealer trying to sale whole a-frame.Would appreciate the help very much.Thanks,Manny in Dallas |

Yes they have,had them replaced about year and half ago. |

You can also call Jesus DeLao, the Parts Manager at Ontario Chrysler to get the ball joints. His number is 909-390-9898 Ask for the ball joint recall kit and you will get two lower ball joints in one box for less money than ordering a single ball joint. The recall kit sells for under $50.00 if I remember correctly. Good luck. Larry |

I would be questioning DC as to why a recalled ball joint only lasted a year and a half.  |

MD Prowler,u have a point there.If it would be costing me 850.00 a side,then I would question it.But Larry said that I could possibly get them for about 50 buck.So right now all I want is to get my ride back on street.Appreciate ur point.thanks,Manny... |

It should be done free unless it was already done. They can check at the dealership to see if it was already done under recall. |

Jeff Hunter, (that's his name right??) here sells them at POA discount. I got two recall kits (FOUR ball joints) for under $50...They were like 12 bucks per. I had to replace one again as the boot tore from whatever, but I suspect the morons at the dealers ripped it while changing my rims out.....they mangled my car every time they touched it. My friend replaced the ball joint in my garage no problem. Get a local mechanic who is knowledgable and thorough. I HATE DEALER SERVICE...I had a golden time for a bit, but my service manager has since left and even he was getting sick of seeing the car come back time and time again. MOST dealers will rush your car through and that's a bad thing. Local dealers here try to hide the fact that they have Prowler techs for those few that do. They just hate the car as they know they always screw something up.. |

Quincy,I kept hearing a noise from front drivers side.At first I thought it was a bearing.Took it over to friends garage and got it inspected.Sound real bad when u tried to turn steering wheel.Noise led to bottom one,drilled and tap a fitting,so it could be greased for time being.It helped,but am going to replace.As soon as I can find one.Thanks... |

Manual: I do belive most recalls will be covered for a period of time I would check with customer service at DC if they go bad after replacement, I think that dealer just dont do it so is not telling you. I was a service manager for many years and I know I have done many recalls more then once on a lot of cars. block-buster ------------------ |

Thanks,Cmblockhus-will talk to Prowler tech Neal tomorrow and see what direction he pionts me 2.If anything if they would just sell me the ball joint by it self I will have my mechanic replace it.I have made about 20 calls here in Dallas and everyone is telling me same thing 800 hundred and something dollars.Thanks,again |

Manuel, email Larry Lord as he may have an extra Recall Kit to sell you. I havnt had mine done under the Recall yet but didnt want to take the chance of the Recall parts drying up. Larry sold me a Recall kit, price was reasonable. Good luck, Buddy |
