Just letting the rank and file know of a situation that I'm involved with on Ebay because I've seen many members of this club dealing with this guy. His Ebay seller's I.D. name is "WILDPIGSMC". His actual name is DAVE CURTIS and he lives and does business from Fenton, Michigan. He sells a lot of unique and unusual Prowler items. I myself have purchased several items from this guy, but I had issues with (2) things in particular. In early November I purchased a factory trailer cover and several die cast Prowler models. The trailer cover was to come with (as advertised) an original Prowler bag (like the ones that came with the car covers). When the items arrived, they all came in one big box. After going through everything, I discovered that the fender of one of the models was bent and the other fender was scratched (the ad didn't state any damages). The trailer cover was there but there was no bag. I sent Dave an email stating this and it would be nice if he did at least send me a bag (at this time he had others listed on Ebay) and I would just let the car go. He immediately sent me back an email stating that he knows for sure that there was a bag in the box and he shipped the cars without inspecting them for any damage and THAT WAS IT. Stunned, I went back and rechecked everything since all was still on my kitchen floor. The bag was STILL missing and the car was STILL damaged. I sent him another email stating the above and since I had spent in the area of $600.00 with this guy, it would only seem right that he would send me the bag being a good businessman and all. At this stage I was still using chivalry.I even gave him a way out by saying that maybe everything was probably just an oversight and he had made a mistake. I said that he should rectify this situation by sending me the bag and $5.00 for the car. He sends me another email saying forget about the $5.00 and that he has been fooled before and if I give him (4) positive reviews, he would THEN AND ONLY THEN, send me the bag. Needless to say, by now I am boiling mad and in another email, let him know this! I also let him know that this is a business transaction and has nothing to do with any reviews. I also let him know that if Fenton, Michigan was any closer to Chicago, I would be paying him a visit personally!! Until this fool, I hadn't had any bad dealings with Ebay. The next thing I did was leave him (4) negative reviews. In a true surprise twist, he was able to get my negative reviews COMPLETELY TAKEN OFF OF HIS SITE AS IF THEY WERE NEVER POSTED!! They were on there for about a week or so and then they just disappeared!! Then this DOG had the nerve to send me an email stating "NICE TRY. YOUR PLAN DIDN'T WORK". Like any other civil person who has been gypped, I would just love to KICK HIS NATURAL A** AND GET MY SATISFACTION THAT WAY!! But instead I'm gonna check into what criminal and/or civil fraud charges I can get against this jerk. I'm definitely not going to let this rest! He does advertise nice and unusual Prowler items for sale, BUT BE STRONG AND RESIST THIS FOOL OR ELSE YOU COULD BE GOING THROUGH THIS SITUATION TOO!! |

On ebay it's only a matter of time before you hit a sour deal.... I stopped shopping ebay before that happened...I have had some items arrive damaged, but was always shocked when the seller replaced the items or gave me credit on a future purchase that I used...I always expected disaster. ebay is still like a Wild West Flea market, and ebay doesn't protect your purchases as much as they lead you to beleive. |

Here's the BIG question, how were your responses removed from eBay without you knowledge? This guy has declared himself above the rules and BUYER BEWARE. Please go back to eBay and find out how this action occurred. You'd be doing the eBay buyers and seller in this club a favor. |

I had bought some items from THE DOG, with "NO" problems, i guess either i was lucky, or you won the AXE! >EBAY is great, but all it takes is a few individuals to sour people, and God, I HATE MISREPRESENTATION !!!! > GO THRU ARBITRATION w/ EBAY and PAYPAL, i did that once where seller was negligent in the packing that i SAVED all the emails requesting specifically how to package, so no damage would occur ( was individual glass items), and sellerdisregarded all, I WON ! AND GOT REIMBURSED! AND GAVE NEG. FEEDBACK, and seller sent me emails blasting me......i told him to be responsible , and not to F*ck his customers, do that to his wife!!!!!!!! **the emails stopped*** MERRY CHRISTMAS/ HAPPY CHANUKAH |

now before you go any furture, I purchased my car cover and trailer cover at the same time 6 years ago. The car cover came with a bag. NEW IN THE BOX FROM CHRYSLER THE TRAILER COVER DID NOT HAVE A BAG. It sounds like the guy is a JERK, but this could have been listed with a bag by mistake. So if he was selling a trailer cover NIB he might not have know if a bag was in there. So far I have been lucky to have only one deadbeat in NY that I got a part for the Dart, but after a few months I finally got it. I also did a search on a parts line for Dart parts and got taken from guy in AL, but with some help from the local sheriff there I got my money back after 6~8 months. There are so many crooks out there the internet just opens it up for more fraud. Ebay needs to be more customer friendly to resolve issues, the police does not have much control over internet issues and the FBI does not get involved unless it is one transaction over $5,000 or multible ones over $100,000.....no matter what...........BUYER BEWARE Buying on the internet is kind of like going gambling. Don't bid more than you are willing to loose Good Luck |

File a Fraud Alert with eBay. That should freeze his account until the issue is resolved. If you paid him via PayPal, there is a Buyers Protection program through them as well as eBay. If payment was sent through the mail, or your items came via USPS, that would be mail fraud and you should contact the post office. Make sure you keep a copy of the original listing and all communication between you and the seller. Good Luck! This message has been edited by Prowler on 12-08-2004 at 01:11 PM |

I also had a couple of dealing with the "DOG" one good one bad and will do no more, the bad one was an auction for a trailer connector with ball and two of the chrome trailer plugs with a cat on each, bid went to $169.00 plus shipping that was ok and Super Dave in Texas had offered to pay $85.00 for one of the plugs, when the package arrived it looked like the trailer connector had damaged one of the plugs with 5 or 6 large nicks or gouges anyway it looked damaged and not new as I thought so I email this guy but in the end got no response at all to my emails so I just gave up. I milled the back off the bad plug and now am putting hooks on it to make a belt buckel, somthing different so maybe the guy did me a favor after all. As for ebay itself I do a fair amount and am happy with them. Oh yah also one of our POA members bought a new fender from this guy and it turned out to be a used part when he got it. block-buster ------------------ |

If I remember it right, this guy posted on POA when he started selling all these items. I think his explaination was that he was selling out a storage locker full of Prowler items. I think he said it was for an estate. I also think he said that he is a policeman or works in law enforcement. He sells these items as a sideline. I may be remembering wrong. I bet you could do a search and get more info about this guy. I didn't know he could get negative feedback removed without E-Bay getting your side of the story. He doesn't sound very honest. I'm not going to bid on any of his items anymore. |

I have made a lot of purchases on e-bay as well and overall I would say that I am satisfied although I have been burned a few times. I bought my trailer cover in 2002 when I bought my trailer and it did not come with a bag either. |

Bags only came from DC with the car cover, and NOT the trailer cover!, if anyone got one with the trailer cover, you got a BONUS, or you PAID for it also! |

I also have had no problem with ebay (yet) after about 83 purchases. I am very interested in hearing what happens with this and how he got the negative feedback removed. If he is a police officer he might have been able to trick someone at ebaY into removing it.?! Hopefully this thread will save another Prowler owner from a headache. Chi_Town_Prowler, I saw the 4 negative feedbacks they where up for one or two days then they where gone....I think the reason e-bay pull them off was you had few "f" and "mf" words in there... |
