Hello Bob,

Remarkable but true. Take a look at this link.
Apparently your "vintage" airpatrols are selling for more
then you are asking for new ones.

Best regards,

Kees

Kees, Check out the seller's other auctions. He is selling off a room full of Prowler items. If I remember correctly, he said said he is a police officer. He is selling off a room (or storage locker) full of items for someone else. He has been selling stuff for some time now.

You got that right. Wife got me to list a bunch of junk 2-3 years ago. This was stuff I was planning on just throwing out. Long story short, in 2 months time, I turned that stuff into $4K.

Dealing with all the folks and shipping is a pain at times but, a real easy way to unload stuff you don't want from time to time.

What you need to do (Bob) is email all of the people who end up "losing" the auction but who bid more than $600 and let 'em know they can get a brand new one from you for $640. Should be good for at least 2 or 3 air patrols anyway.

It's amazing how dopey some of the people on ebay are. They bid everything up in the first couple of days of the auction, and often end up overpay grotesquely for readily available stuff (the air patrol is one example, $132.50 for a set of silver floor mats another). It would appear that winning the auction is more important than getting something you want or need at a "fair" price. Obvious exceptions would be stuff that is particularly difficult to find - in those cases you pay what you gotta pay or you no get.

Hey - good for the sellers I guess. You may want to keep an air patrol for sale on ebay at all times - it would appear getting the list price for them might not be all that tough, and if you can sell one or two a month then what the heck.

Bob, to contact the member, first go to the auction and click on the "bids" and it will give you that list that is posted here.
Then click on their name and it will give you a members profile. On the right side there is a "box" that is oval shaped sort of, that says CONTACT MEMBER. Click on that and it will give you a box to type in. eBay frowns on that stuff but they are not diligent about checking it.
