Got in about 8pm. Had a great time despite the rain. Met some new friends and saw some old friends again. Tired for now, will post later with some pics.

All of us who attended will post pics soon. A great time was had by all. The New Jersy guys and gals who put this together did a wonderful job. Thanks to all involved. AND a special thanks to "BOB" ( at REAL ROD). Bob did not get to attend, but listen to this story!!!!!
On Friday evening we all were hanging out in a second floor room and on the Balcony. We had observed a couple of young boys walking around and looking at our cars. They went from one end to the other end of the lot numerous times. We had a small rain shower that had finally ended and some of us went down to wipe our cars down. The two young guys ( one about 13, the other about 9 ) appeared again . We gave them each matchbox prowler and the oldest one said that he met "BOB" last year in Florida at "the Turkey Rod Run" and "Bob" had allowed him to sit in his Prowler and gave him the "POA" web site address, which he now follows. He saw that we were going to do the "Jersey lighthouse Tour" so he coaxed his mom into bringing them up from Maryland to follow along with us and to stay at the same hotel we were to be in. Isn't that just too cool ?????? "Bob" you are one of our finest POA Ambassadors. Thank you for helping the youth of this country to keep interested in our great hobby and staying out of trouble.

Jim

Well it just goes to show ya, give a kid a little of your time at these events and they will remember forever. This kid showed up at the Prowlers I bet 2 or 3 times during the first day, I offered to let him sit in the car for a picture but he did not have a camera with him, welllllll they came back again! Nice to see he is still following the board but when I posted this after he sent me a letter several people sent him Prowler things, I know he has jumped on the chat nights also. So it was just not me I just started it, lets keep it going everyone! Letting a young person that you can tell loves cars sit in your Prowler it is something they will remember a long time.

To the New Jersey Chapter: My sincerest appreciation and thanks for all the work that went in to this outstanding event!!

To those that couldn't make it: It was a historic scavenger hunt of sorts. We cruised from lighthouse to lighthouse to view these beautiful lighthouses and collect our commemorative cards from each. It was fun to arrive at each one but also fun when it was time to go and the first Prowler would start-up sending everyone scrambling to their Prowlers to line up for the next leg of the jouney. Prowler folks are indeed the best and when you add that to eleven destinations to Katavan to, well need I say more! There is just nothing like cruzin' down the highway with a cool bunch of Prowlers with cool POA people inside!
Thanks again! We had a G R E A T T I M E!!!!!!!!

Along with our thanks to the NJ Chapter, I would also like to acknowledge the help we received from an Atlantic City Police Officer. When we arrived at Absecon Lighthouse, parking was at a premium, this officer escorted us to an area right in behind the lighthouse and allowed all the Prowlers to park in a no parking zone while we collected our cards.

Larry and Matthew were the two boys at the hotel. I last saw them Saturday when I pulled into the gas station and they went on. We tried our best to keep them in the group but managed to lose them along the way. Hope you guys had a great time!

Memorable moments: Getting a motorcycle police escort in Atlantic City to park in a No Parking zone right in front of the lighthouse.

Creating a mini car show at the Cape May lighthouse. (Trey's picture above)

Haunted dinner theatre; great time, but lost part of the group on the way, sorry.

Watching, or should I say hearing Ed go by. lol

Thanks to all that put this together. It was just awesome!!

Just arrived home safely from the cruise. Outstanding cruise and special thanks to all involved in organizing it, in spite of the Canadian conspiracy Saturday evening.(and we are sticking with that story). Will posts some pictures later.

Well, after 5 days, 1802 miles, 11 lighthouses and a million laughs, we made it home. We had a fabulous time, but that is just the usual at a POA event.
The crew who put this event together did a grand job. There were a ton of really nice raffle prizes. The goody bag was outstanding (even if Marshmallow Balls Mills didn't get a hat). We sang Happy Birthday to him, though.
The weather was pretty good while we were out cruising but was kind of ugly on the way home from Pittsburgh. It rained pretty hard.
Thanks to Steve, Sharon, Pete, WildBill and whoever else had a hand in the planning. Outstanding job. Thanks to MDProwler Gary and GAD for leading us on a couple of back roads to miss traffic on Sunday.
Sandy said the camera is screwed up so I don't know if we have pictures or not. I have to re-charge the batteries and see what is up with that.
It was great seeing everyone and for those of you who couldn't make it, you missed a great event and we missed seeing you. The views from the tops of the lighthouses was awesome. The exercise did do most of us much good, though. lol.
I guess that is the last event for a few months. We are sure glad we made it and thanks again to everyone who made it a big success.
We got home at 11 PM but there were a few stops involved.

We had so much fun I have decided to have an OUThouse event covering Ohio, Ky, Tenn and W.VA. It could turn out to be crappy, but we will try to make it aromatic. Film at 11.

Ed: The Lighthouse tour had eleven locations in two days. If you limit the tour to eleven locations, that would only cover one block in any West Virginia town!

Thanks to Steve, Sharon, Pete, Wildbill and the NJ POA members for organizing a fun event. It was a busy, fun, sometimes wet, sometimes beautiful weekend. Worth all 1755 miles of seat time.

I can't get the camera to work. It is under warranty so it will be going in to get fixed. We only have about 10 pics, anyway.

Just make sure that you hold it in mid July so that the aroma not only offends you, but literally smacks you in the face
I want to thank everyone for making this a great event. I hope you had as much of a blast as I did. I am glad everyone arrived home safely. I got a hold of a representative on Monday & asked about the pin situation. They only made a total of 500 pins... They sold out in a heartbeat. He is going to see what he can do for us. He really appreciated our support & said that the Prowlers were a hit where ever we went. I will write a more personal post, but need to get a bunch of things done today at work. Fires are burning pretty hot! More photos are on the way!

I was only able to make one of the two days, but it was great to see old friends and meet new ones. Thank you WildBill, Steve Dymo, Sharon and Pete. I'm glad you were able to show the out-of-staters the beautiful side of NJ (That is, NOT the Turnpike.)
