Ron, do you mean an 'oem clone' in polished steel, or some new style caps like the 'spinner' or 'billet' ones that Shimmers carries ? If they WOULD be metal (not plastic) I'd be willing to pay $ 100,- - $ 200,- for a set of 4 - all depending on style, material, etc. ! JMO |

I'm actually willing to pay up to $600 for a complete set of polished spinners including chrome lug nuts as once was sold by steelercat here--if STILL available anywhere: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/001334.html Here is what he used to sell looks like! Ron, Just an fyi, I was referring to ones similar to the billet caps Shimmers is offering, kind of like the old American Racing center caps. Believe it or not I have no physical problems with my OEM caps, just looks. |

There's a guy named Randy with a company called MoparParts that has 'em new for $189 for a set of 4. I've bought a few things from him over the years (car cover, bra, etc.) and he's legit. His number is 800 428 0517. You might first call or email Jeff Hunter at Hendrick Auto: JEFFREY.HUNTER@HENDRICKAUTO.COM I just bought a set of floor mats with the silver Prowler logo (puttin' my purple ones on a shelf since I can't get 'em anymore) and a chrome shifter bezel for myself and a set of front and rear splash guards for a buddy of mine and Jeff was an absolute pleasure to deal with. His prices were outstanding (e.g. $49.50 for front AND rear splash guards which works out to $24.75 for each pair, and the shifter bezel was $134.20 instead of the $204.00 list price). Or I suppose you could go to their website I'll be doing business with him again. Good guy. Thanks Jeff Hope that helps |

Thanks for clearin' that up. Either I didn't know that or I forgot it - which is a distinct possibility at this stage of my life. I have a really good memory. It's just kinda short |

Here are some pictures of the Original Billet Center Caps for the OEM Prowler wheels. These are shipped in a "machine finish" and can easily polished to a Chrome like finish to compliment either the painted or Chrome wheels. These are in stock for immediate delivery... $499 for set of 4 Center Caps including 20 closed end Chrome lug nuts and UPS Ground shipping. If these interest you just give me a call @ 800 669 3540 and they will be on the way. By the way, it would be impossible to break one of these Billet Center Caps, therefore they have a LIFETIME Limited Warranty. THANKS for your inquiry, Jay |

I love the spinners shown above, but can't afford them. So, I've decided to make my own with one little difference. The spinners will be designed to keep the stock center caps in place. They will be chrome plated along with the riser they're mounted on. Check out my design so far. The Prowler wheel center is represented by the pink part in the picture.
The stock center cap is represented by the gray part in the drawing.
The spinner and the riser used to mount it will be chrome plated.
What do you think? ------------------ |

Yo' Kraut, I think I'd really, really like to see your finished product, bro'~I gotta have the spinner cuz without that part, it's just not complete IMHO. The stock chrome wheel and plastic cover are really fine...but the spinner is the integral reason to switch to anything other than stock! Please email me after you have it perfected--thanks! ------------------ |

Kraut, I think you've got the right idea. I never have like the aftermarket center caps because they show the ugly indentation around the edge of the hubcap seating area. Your idea if I understand it correctly will hide this ugly area and also hide the lug nuts. Way to go! Now let's see the finished product. |

Kraut, That really works for me. I second everything T\K said about the originals. I was interested in the spinners that Steeler Kat had made, but I think the swept design is even more into the Prowler design. KEEP ON TRUCKIN on these. Let us know. I am in!! ------------------ |

As some of you know, I had back surgery a couple of weeks ago, so my wife hasn't been letting me do anything around here. Bored, I decided to do some CAD design on the spinner idea, I've been thinking for some time about making some spinners for my car, but I also didn't like the look of the wheels without the center cap covering the lugnuts and the wheel opening. The design I've come up with, leaves the center cap in place, but does require a hole to bored through the center of them. The spinner mounting flange is then securely fastened to the wheel through that hole. There are no changes required to the wheel or any other stock part. I probably won't actually be able to make them for another couple of months, due to doctor's orders, and my wife won't let me stray from those orders. I'll start a new post with pictures after I complete the prototypes. Thanks for your comments. |
