One Saturday, I was out looking at new trucks at an Auto Mall in Riverside, Ca. when just down the street 2 Bunt orange Prowlers on a lot caught my eye. Had to go an take a look. on the way home I kept thinking to myself man! it sure would be nice to have one. The following Monday on the way home from work I decided to stop back at that dealership and take another look, they both were gone.
The following weekend again looking for a new truck, this time I had the wife, son and grand son with me. And low and behold there sitting pretty in the glowing sun light was a Inca Gold Prowler. So I pull up to a parking space just in front of it, and the wife say's YOUR NOT GOING TO LOOK AT THAT ARE YOU? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH 2 ROADSTERS ?" the wife has a BMW Z3", WE NEED ROOM FOR THE GRAND SON AND GROCERIES!!! so I get out of the truck walk over to this Buit, and start walking around it. a sales person walks up and say's can I help you Sir, so I look up and see the $$ in his eyes and the drool spewing from the sides of his mouth, :"Boy I Hate Dealerships" He than asked if I wanted to take it for a spin? Got in drove and was hooked.Whent in to sign the dotted line and the whole time, the wife was having a Tissy Fit. From that day on it's been pure heaven to drive the prowler and pure Hell with the wife. Oh! I did get a new truck as well...

Eventhough Jay has had the "YELLER CAT" since June 2000 and I have driven it a grand total of less than a half mile, as a "significant other" I was behind him 100% and could not have been happier that he could finally get the car he had been looking at for years.

Wouldn't change a thing!!

When I told Rebecca I had just bid on a Prowler on ebay she just said "yeah, right!" Eight days later my son called while we at a soccer tournament in Nashville for my daughter's team and he told me I was the high bidder and won the auction, I said "yeah, right!" When he convinced us he wasn't kidding, Rebeccca said she hoped I had figuered out a way to finance it. After her first ride she loved it and especially after her fist POA event she was as hooked as I am!

She was behind me 100% when I purchased her's. But she threw a fit when I told her I was getting one too. I had to....she hid the keys to her's from me. Then she relented enough to say I had to get a different color than she had.....something to do with my driving and making her look bad. Nancy you may have met her last month when she stopped by to get shimmer samples with my kids. Her name is Violet.

My wife knew I was looking for one for over a month but when I actually went to purchase it she totally against it. She loves the Prowler but will never admit it. Mine is a 97 Purple and that is her favorite color, she loves riding in it and she loves taking it to shows with me. She is betting with my friends on how long I will keep this car as I trade cars a lot, (just never found the right car) and everyone thinks mid January. The only way I will sell this car is to replace it with a Orange or Candy Red Prowler with equal or less miles on it. The Orange was my favorite color on Prowlers until I came to this site and saw Candy Red.

My wife was the one that suggested I get it instead of a viper (she did end up with a car since I had money left over). After almost 2 years she finally drove the prowler about 3 weeks ago and now knows why I love driving it.

The significant other is me. Pat was the soul buyer on the Prowler. She handles the money in the Waleke's household, so I kind of backed away but loved the car. I guess I kind of nodded my head (I was getting a bug out of my hair) and the rest is history. The best nod I ever did.

My wife was all for it - her only qualification was that it had to be red and black. No problem - two weeks later our Woodward was on a truck headed to our house. It arrived at about 9:00 pm on Christmas Eve and was delivered by truck driver "Santa" Carl. We made it our Christmas present that year. Since then, it's been referred to as "her" kat but somehow I still get to do all the cleaning and maintenance on it!

My wife was all for getting a fun car to get us out of the house on weekends..we always tended to hang out on the weekends and not do much, since the work-weeks were too damn draining.

We knew a Vette wasn't going to do it for us, and the Prowler was the ONLY choice for outrageousness.

Then I felt guilty having such a cool car and convertible so we went out and got her the turquois T-bird. She's having fun now too!

When we lived in Utah we had a 29 Ford HiBoy Street Rod. We sold it when we moved to Georgia to help with down payment on a new home. When we finally got the kids out of the house (no we didn't kick them out) we started looking for something. I showed her pictures of the Prowler but she did not like it, said she would prefer another Street Rod. A short time later we went to an Oldies concert which also had a car show. A dealer had a Purple Prowler on display and it was love at first sight. She was then behind me 200%. She loves the car as much as I . In fact she made the down payment and has paid for many of the Mods we have added. I am a very lucky man.

Brenda has supported me in all of my collector car purchases and she will drive all of them except the 1928 Plymouth. But now, it is payback time....she wants a bigger house so I guess it is her turn!

From the time I saw the concept drawing, I wanted one. My hubby was on Team Prowler and I worked for a sports marketing company that handled the Plymouth Prowler Roadshow for Chrysler.......it was my program to take care of and the more I was around it, the more I wanted it. Several years later, my husband surprised me with my 99 Black Cat with a big presentation over at Chrysler!! It was a present for our 32nd anniversary. On our 35th anniversary, he did it again and presented me with my 02 Candy Red!!

It was like a dream come true even having one.......NEVER thought I would have two!!

She always liked the Prowler and was behind me all the way when I finally got it!
Pretty much the same with the rest of the cars we had over the years.....as long as she gets to spend money on her 72 Beetle!

I supported my husband's decision to buy the Prowler 100%.

In fact, after he had his flamed (a guy thing)...he got me one of my own in my favorite color...purple of course.

My story:

I had been looking at prowlers for a long time. I had made a couple offers on different cars, the dealers would not budge . So I had decided to buy a Vette . The wife had convinced me that the prowler was not a practical car due to no trunk space, I agreed. The the next Saturday I was cruising Carmax and found a Yellow 2000 with 500 miles on it for an unreal price. I went into the living room and told Lori what I had found and the price. Her exact words were 'well did you buy it?'. Two hours later I had purchased the car and arranged for the delivery from Florida via carmax. Carmax had never had a request for a delivery in an enclosed trailer. Car arrived two weeks later. During this two weeks I was in Europe working. When I arrived Home we went straight to dealer to pick up car.

I have been smiling ever since. Just the other day I was telling a friend that if I had purchased the Vette I would have already traded for something else. The Prowler is a keeper..

My wife and I had stopped in a local bar for drinks one evening after work and were discussing how boring our weekends were. I suggested a fun car like a convertible and she agreed. I told her I had one in mind and she blurted out "A Prowler?" I was shocked that she had guessed and we had never discussed a prowler ever before. We found on on a car lot and drove it and decided this was the car for us. We found on on Ebay a few weeks later and we both enjoy driving the car.

I was at a street festival last Summer and saw a beautiful Yellow Kat cruise right past my wife and I. I think I knew right then that I wanted one. My wife didn't quite accept this well at first. She wanted to wait until the kids (and us)got older, we have little ones. But, I am not the kind to renegade such a large purchase without her consent and I didn't want to wait (knowing that life's twists and turns may never lead me to this opportunity) There was quite a bit of tension regarding my purchase at first.
It really is not practical in so many ways. And, the perception (jealousy) of some people can work to a disadvantage personally and professionally. I am sure you all can attest to it.
But, I have it and enjoy those peaceful moments cruising with my wife or by myself.
I like the attention, and seeing kids faces light-up as I drive by.
I like the fact that I have done something for myself, a reward if you will, as my life's work always centers around my family.
I am a proud owner!

My wife absolutely HATES the PROWLER! (Never quite go over me bringing it home on whim without asking her permission). She still refuses to ride in it .

However...my "Significant Other" just LOVES the car..expecially when we go fast and he can hang his head out the window

Took the whole family to my mothers house near Pittsburgh, PA. Sitting at dinner one night my sister mentioned that Franks (long time dealer friends with my parents) had a Prowler in his show room that he was "trying to get rid of". Later that night I told my wife that I was going to go take a look at it, her response "that's OK". Boy, was I surprised, since it is very impractical, we have 3 boys all under 12 and she was pregnant at the time. Any way I couldn't"t pass it up. Bought it, and rented a trailer to tow it back to SC. She has only ridden with me a few times, too hard to get in and out until a couple of months ago, but as long as it makes me happy. And since this is a small town, I'll never have a girlfriend that I can drive around, the car is just too visible.

The best reaction was from my middle son. He never saw a Prowler before. When we driving to the dealership to show them the car we passed by it at a stop sign. He told me I should get a car like that one. He didn't believe me that I was until we hooked up the trailer the next day!
