Don't really know how she felt. When I told her I had traded her for the Kat she just gave me that "deer in the headlights" look. Haven't seen her since. Didn't get much for her, but turned out to be the best deal I've ever made. |

My wife always wanted a fiat convertible. (I won't even fit in one.) I planned on buying her one in '95. (She didn't know.) When I saw a concept drawing of the Prowler, I showed it to her and she said it was nice. I said that if they ever made the car, I'd buy one for sure (not expecting it to be produced). She was behind me all the way when we found out they were actually producing it, and knew that when I said I was going to do something, that it would happen. But inside, she felt that it meant she wouldn't get her fiat (little did she know). She was just picturing herself behind the wheel. I started saving my money, cause I knew they wouldn't be cheap. Well, she walked out the door for the last time Christmas of 94, and we finalized a bitter divorce in 95 with her starting out saying she was going to take me for everything I had. She soon found out there was nothing she could get. (Thank God for shovels!) She didn't get her fiat, but I got my Prowler in 97. When she found out I got it, she hated it (for obvious reasons) but a couple years back, I saw her and she told me she liked the car. (Actually getting the car is another story in itself.) That's my story and I'm sticking to it. |

My best friend had a Prowler and I liked it. One came available on a car lot, had my best bud check it out and he gave it a thumbs up. Didnt even mind that it was the same year and color as his... Told the Wife about it and she first said "That's the most impractical car you've ever thought about buying-I'm against it!!" Three minutes later she came back into the room and said "Honey, if that car will make you happy, then buy it!!" The rest is history. In 2 weeks, we will celebrate our 37th anniversary and I am sure it will involve a cruise in the Prowler!! ------------------ |

I was leaving one of our vendors in a small town, and as I started through a intersection, I spotted something yellow at the Chrysler dealer down the road. Since I am always searching for anything yellow I headed that way fully expecting to just see a Neon. When I saw the Prowler I knew it was for me. I discussed it with the sales lady and told her I would return that evening with my wife. I had no idea how I was going to get her to travel 50 miles to look at a car. Just then she called and asked were was I and what were we doing for dinner. A light went on in my head, and I said we are comming down here for dinner. When we came into town I stopped and showed her the Prowler and her reaction was, "We have three cars and there is only two of us. You are insane". She then asked were are we going to dinner, to which I replied the nearest decent restaurant is 50 miles away at home. Two days later the Prowler came home, and now we have three. ------------------ |

My wife knew that I always wanted a Prowler but could not afford one at first. In the year 2000 I went to a local dealership to see if they could get one for me and they said they could not help. I went to Houston and there was a purple one on the show room roped off. You could not even get close to it. I ask how much? and they said the highest bid was 67,000, so I said too much for me. My wife knew that I really wanted a PROWLER but could not get one, so she call's me one day an tell's me "I know it's not a PROWLER' but I saw this good looking SLK 230 Mercedes Roadster I think you will like. So I went and looked at it and bought it. Then on Father's Day we were out looking for a car for her. I was on the lot and she went into the show room. She comes outside and tell's me to come see inside. So I go, and there set's a Black Prowler. I told the salesperson if you give me what I paid for my Mercedes I will buy this Prowler. He said go get it. So I went and got it. As we were talking a deal there was already two men out near my car wanting to buy it. So for Father's Day of 2000 I got my Prowler. Thanks to my Wife. I was so happy to get my Prowler that as I was driving it home I was so nervous that I made myself sick. My wife thought it was funny and she ends up driving us home. That is how excited I was about getting my Prowler. This was a first for me. |

Sandy was out of town for a funeral, April 1999. I bought the car and she had no idea I was getting it. Not a big deal for me to do something without asking her first. She loves it, naturally. She came home and I said, "look what I bought!" Then last Nov. I saw an ad here on POA for a Candy cat. I told her I was thinking about buying it and selling the 99 Red. She said if you want it you might as well get it. It took several months to get that deal finalized and then I was going to unload the 99 Red. She said, "Why sell it". Now we have two of them. We consider a whole lot of the POA folks to be very close friends and we try to make as many events as we possibly can. EVERY event has been a blast. They have all been different but all a lot of fun, in one way or another (or several). The car literally changed our lives and the way we take vacations. I never would have thought that was possible. |

Sue & I seen it in the magazines and liked it. Then we saw it at the Mopar Nationals in `94 (I think) CJ Might have even been there. We decided then IF THEY BUILD IT, WE WILL BUY IT In Feb. of `96 I made a deposit to reserve the right to the 2nd car the dealer got, if and when he got it. I talked to everyone I could and cut out every article in the paper and magazines. Working for an auto manufacturer we get several related magazines and I looked thru them all. I found out from one of the TEAM VIPER guys that was here for the 500 in `96 that the Prowler was to start production on January 17th `97. I bugged the dealer about what was going on with the car but I think I knew more about it then they did. In Feb of `98 they received their 1st PURPLE Prowler. The 1st part of June the of `98 I was talking to the owner of the deazlership and he told me they ask him what color he would like for his second Prowler. He told them " Well we have had a Purple so I think a Yeloow would be good" I had seen the Yellow one at an Indianapolis dealer and had Sue go look at it. We both Loved the Yellow and was hoping to get a yellow. I worked afternoons at the time and Sue would meet me for dinner. On July 13th `98 she come up for dinner but my Dad was with her and had something to tell me. They could not find my phone number since the saleman that took my deposit was no longer there and they knew my dads number so they called him. He told me that I needed to call the dealer the next day. The car was delivered to the dealer on saturday the 11th, I went and seen it and got the paper work on the 14th and on the 15th my Dad drove Sue and I out to take delivery. Now my Mom & Dad thought I was CRAZY to give the dealer $1,000 to reserve the right to buy the second car they got not knowing when it would come or how much it would cost. But my Dad must have changed his mind about the car since he told EVERYONE about it and showed off the pictures of it to anyone that would look at them. It was nothing for people to come over to his house and before they left have to make it to my house so he could show them my car. I think he liked it as much as me. Sue was all for the Mods we have done and she wants some that I do not. The only thing she didn't want was FLAMES on the car. The Painter said he would give me flames and I got them, Airbrushed flames that we both love. Concidering the cra was only 5 months old and I sent the wheels out to be chromed and the car to the paint shop for a custom paint job, many people thought I was crazy. The one thing I do know it has has 1,000's of pictures taken as we drive it. So in closing I would have to say SUE IS BEHIND ME 100% on this car and the Dart. Many of the improvements are her request. She wants power windows & electric cutouts on our `67 Dodge Dart convertible. Just because it started life as inexpensive, economical transportation does not mean it has to stay that way, AND IT HASN'T.................LOL |

Always loved the car but never thought I would actually own one. I sat in a silver several years ago at the dealer(he still has it)and was told they would sell for 64,000. 44, yea, 64, no. Tammy and I always take turns on new vehicles but mine are always own by the business. Her Durango was almost paid off so it was my turn. I was just browsing E-bay one day and a thought hit me so I searched on Prowler. I was really surprised at how many were on there. I told Tammy that I bid on one just to feel her out and she wanted to see it. I knew by her reaction it was cool. A week later I had narrowed it down to my current Orange and a Woodward. I have a black truck and know how hard it is to keep so the Orange it was. Two weeks later I drove it from the delivery truck straight to work with the Texas tags still on it. I've only been to one major Prowler event but as Ed says it changes the way you take vacations forever. ------------------ |

I have always loved cars, whether it was classic, unique, or futuristic...... It was during the last Christmas holiday my wife's younger brother brought to my attention of the Prowler. I started to search on the internet, e-bay, and the classifies. I was back in Portland, OR visiting the family and found a Inca Gold Prowler at a dealership. I took my wife in for a test drive. One look at the color and the vehicle, I can see my wife just fell for it. This is a dream car to me. The negotiation didn't fell through... For the next few months, I continued to search the internet and on e-bay just out of curiosity....I knew I cannot have the Prowler along w/ the Mercedes SLK at the time. In early March, I was paying attention to a brand new, never titled, only 19 miles, from a dealership in Sealy, Texas. It was on e-bay. While the bidding were going on, I contacted the seller and came to term on a price. I told my wife that I am buying a Prowler from Texas....She supported my purchase but I cannot keep the SLK... Two days later, I was in Texas, and drove the Prowler home 28 hrs later. I couldn't believe that in a 72 hrs turnaround, a brand new Prowler was in my garage. I have to say, my wife do spoil me....and support my interests....MEN, KEEP THE WOMAN HAPPY & YOU WILL GET LUCKY......RIDE ON.... |

Has anyone in SC ever met my wife at any prowler event? I didn't think so. She has no interest in my hobby but never interfere with my car purchase decisions. "You just bought a Vette and now a Prowler. Is that mean that I have to park my Land Cruiser outside the garage now?" She asked...I turned and looked and said... ------------------ |

Well, what can I say. I'm a car guy (always have been, always will be) but the wife really isn't. Cars are just a means of transportation to her. We both accept it. That was before the Prowler experience. Now she looks forward to taking a ride, just for the sake of taking a ride.

My wife was the one who pushed me to buy the Prowler. She knew that I always wanted one after I had driven my friends 2 yrs before. I resisted because of the price. After a long wait and working on a deal wiyh the dealer I got a 2001 with 4300 miles for less than $30,000 in October 2002. Life hadn't been bad but now it was perfect! 12,000 miles later and still smiling!! As of know it's a keeper. |

When I got married Bianca knew nothing about cars except which ones she liked, now she knows more about them than most of the guys I know. She has judged more than a couple of dozen car shows and is very good at it. When I look at buying a car I always have her look it over as she can spot flaws in the paint and body faster than I can. On two different ocassions she has cried when I sold a car, one was a 67 427 frame off Corvette and the other was a 95 Viper both were sold as business decissions not because I wanted to. She shows her car a 04 turbo PT/Cruiser as it turns out her car is a rare color as it is new for 04 and was discontinued 10/03 so it was produce for a couple of months at best. I would love to know how many were actually produced. You can see it in the pic next to my Purple Prowler. Barry |

My/our story is simple. We rented one for our 10th anniversary in April of 99. We purchased an immaculate 97 in May of this year which just happened to be our 15th. The coolest ending to this story is when I was taking my lovely wife to lunch one day while the kids were in school. We made a quick u-turn with the Prowler to run into this well renowned jewelry store. Just to look of course. My wife immediately fell in love with this diamond ring to commemorate our 15th. Life just doesn't get any better than this. Having the Lord...your wife...and your family by your side...what more could I ask for?! Have a great day everyone! Brian |
