We are still checking on hotels to see if it is feasible to do a Yellowstone event in 2005. If not, we will do it in 2006. Will let everyone know as soon as possible.

I would like to see a Yellowstone event, even if we had to take the motorhome, due to inadequate lodging. Beautiful area, with some great prowlin roads.

I think everyone is agreeing that Yellowstone is the first choice....
We also talked about the Wisconsin Dells and the Hot Rod Power tour....haven't heard much lately!

I started tossing the idea recently along with a few others...CT Prowler,Topcat,MD Prowler,Meancat.....about having an event either next year or the year after in.....Lake Placid,NY
Couldn't ask for a better location....mountains to cruise around in,lakes for beautiful scenery...and located fairly centraly in New York State.
My wife and I went a couple of years ago and I really regret not having the Prowler there....simply spectacular!
Site of the 1980 winter olymics....lots to offer!
Maybe.....we'll see!

Mike, Nothing against your idea. However it was anything but cold in the Smokies (can you say Africa Hot). It was not cold in Texas (just Tons of rain), and the last time I went to the Dels in the summer it was brutally hot. In fact even in the Rockies it was not cold until we went way up to the top of the mountains. I hear it rained in Canada and even Woodward I think had a day of rain. After this year I think it would be more appropriate to say shouldn't we go somewhere it doesn't rain much.

Just a thought here......Can we plan on MID summer? Say maybe Late June or July or so? There were several I remember reading about that would have like to have attended but couldnt due to kids still in school, etc.

thedqman- I WON'T SAY NO!! Prowlers at Disney in Florida-be still my palpitating heart! Can you imagine if we had the largest gathering yet and had permission to do an afternoon parade through the streets of Disney. Everybody has a Lotto dream. For me (and I mean the really really big jackpot!) it would be to have a POA event in Disney and pay to have all Prowlers shipped and all members flown there at no expense. We would either stay at the Swan in Disney or at Marriots Orlando World Center Resort.(Richard Marriot that own the V-8 Prowler might even give me a discount lol) One hour cruise to Daytona. Cruises down A1A OMG somebody stop me!

Roman, why don't you start checking on some hotels in the area and see what you can find? Upstate NY is beautiful. Most people think of NY and think big city. It is mountainous and wide open country. The area around Cooperstown is spectacular with a lot to see, also. The finger lake region has a lot on wineries that offer tours. Watkins Glen is nearby.
I will gladly help you if you are taking charge.

I know what I'm about to say will turn most people on but I can't make Yellowstone AS it is on a holiday. And I can't do that.(but most may like that)AS I'm a thorn in the behind anyway. So I will go to the Dell's with friends instead.(thank you)

Yellowstone presents a possible chance for another trip to the strip and maybe even another car museum. Pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but seemed there was no interest. My Uncle has drag raced the area since '56 and has many nice cars of his own. I would have to address these issues with him, before committing.

Mickey, after conferring with A/C and his attorney, Al Bendover and A/C's cousin, Tami Faye (who called me cheap and had better not cash any more of my $ 1 checks) the consensus is
YOU OUGHT TO BE COMMITTED. lol
Don't get too upset if no one takes an interest in what is not already planned. After it is planned, it still takes awhile to get things moving. Don't despair, eventually people will commit.

For us there are only two requirments for a 2005 POA event.

1. Somebody (or group)step up, take charge, and plan an event.

2. The event is scheduled when I don't have an out of town contract to produce.

I am committed to doing Hot Rod Power Tour next June and my persoal preference would be a late July of early to mid August Yellowstone event. It may be a long drove, but would be half the fun. The scenery would be great, but I would porefer to avoid any Holiday time near a National Park.

Dells, Lake Placid, Disney would, in my opinion, all be nice places also and if that what gets planned then we'll have to see if we can make it.

i'm still very new on this board, how come most of the prowler events happens in mid or eastern US, seeing most of the pictures from the last month or so, i would really like to go to one of these, is there anything that happens in the pacific north west, or even 12 hr drive to california, but the closest event this year so far is more than 24hr drive, yellowstone sounds good, only 18hrs

dooboy,
The first event was Grand Canyon and Laughlin NV, four years ago. Then we had an event in Colo., we had an event at Deadwood S.D. so actually almost all of the events were out west for us folks back here. Last year we went to Smoky Mtn. TN and this year to Texas, which is in the middle of the U S, but still 1000 miles west for me.
I am not trying to give you a hard time, at all. Stuff this year just happens to be toward the eastern half. Next year we might make it Yellowstone. That is west for us, again. Not complaining. Just letting you know how things evolved. You probably will never drive very far west or north to attend an event. lol.
We might also end up in Minn. or NY next year. There are a lot of events, and there are a lot of events in Cal. Larry Lord always has something planned, it seems. I wish I was closer just so we could make some of those events. The problem in the Pacific Northwest is that there does not seem to be a lot of Prowlers, or at least POA Prowlers up that way. That does not mean we will never be there for an event. We try to move it around a little so everyone can make some of them. We have been to all of the big events.
The FL. people have the same complaint as you. They are as far south east as you can get so it is a long drive for most people. Florida has an extremely large POA presence so they have big events with just the locals.
Obviously everyone will not be pleased by what ever is decided. Then you shoot for the following year. The other big debate is what time of year is best.
Just decide what you can do and shoot for that. Once you make one event you will probably try pretty hard to make another one.
I hope that answers some of your questions.

I'm still investigating a midwest midJune, earlyJuly thing concentrating on the Wisconsin Dells area.......

way early yet... but thought there was more than a 'nibble' on that idea a while back

Also, 'off the record' figuring that sometime (last year the 2nd weekend in October worked out great) THIS year I am going to host a 'Kettle Moraine Forest' run again, hopefully in time with the changing of the fall colors.

So, tentatively, the 2nd Sat in Oct THIS year will be a 'go'.....
Am actually considering booking a band I saw last night, and catering in some food to our local village park, after reserving the park... for October.... any early takers?

If I decide to spearhead a Yellowstone event next year, it will NOT be on a holiday weekend. Lodging would be impossible at that time. We are thinking later in the year.
