While at the Phx division of Adessa (very large, southwesterner states, auto auction) on monday, I seen a dark blue Prowler with California plates still on it getting ready to go through their detail/cleanup assembly line. This facility is only open for dealers buying and/or selling their inventory. The Prowler was stock, but had all the bumpers painted blue. Wednesday the cat went through the auction ring and brought $32,700,,,,,,had 7,000 miles on it. Considering this auction is only for dealers flying in from all over the western states, I feel this cat brought a rather good price at a wholesale dealer auction. Maybe the cat has hit stable ground considering demand to supply figures? Anyway, I was impressed.

I am thinking about selling the 99 and when people admire the car I ask them if they want to buy it. They ask how much and I usually say, $ 32,000. They usually say, "why so cheap? something wrong with it? Maybe prices are on the upswing. Last month an orange sold at wholesale here for $ 32,000. RED has got to be worth more, lol.

I keep an eye on the wholesale prices and they have been on the rise now for 4 months, and I run Auto Trader once on month and retails seem to be on the rise. I think its because the dealers with a few exceptions are not blowing out what's left. As I have said before I think Prowler prices are going to follow collector Corvette value increases, if so we should see about 5% a year on average.

General public's perception after seeing the car is that it is worth a lot more than the asking price-most people not educated in price think it's worth more than the Viper!
AC-I think this is positive seeing wholesale auctions bringing that kind of money.
Just think, once all the new Prowlers are gone, the demand will probably increase which will certainly drive the prices up.

CJ, Too many cars, not enough garages. Candy has warranty left, lower miles, newer, etc. I am not sure I will sell it, actually.
Dale, TOTALLY STOCK
Dr. P, I agree.

Roman is right about public perception.
I bought my Kat at Adesa with 1,000K(not miles)
for 13K (Canadian) under list, 2 years ago.

Yes it would be great if they maintained their value, but I love my Kat at any price...and it's not for sale.

Dr. P, Your are right about people thinking Prowlers cost more than they really do. I am a poor old working slob and just today someguy said "Are you a doctor or what?" I think that is one of the fun things about owning a Prowler!
