I just ordered 50 of the plate frames. They will be chrome plated brass with the idents for the stickers on the bottom. The local woman who I talked to is reasonably sure this can be accomplished. She has to order out of California and will let me see the mock up pictures in the next day or two. I told her to order them if they are what I described. Here is a link. http://www.licenseframe.com/frames.htm Click on Engraving Samples and then click LF321-4H If you read below the picture it explains that the plate can be flipped with just two holes. The price will be $ 28 or 29 probably, plus shipping. To get the tabs put on the frame we needed to order 1250 pieces and they would be made overseas. After everything is finalized I will post the rest of the info. I can accept Paypal but not Paypal with a credit card. I can also set aside frames to deliver in Texas and even Niagara Falls without any delivery charge. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 03-29-2004 at 10:42 PM |

I just looked at the proposed frame and told them to cancel the order. They can only put the cut-outs at the bottom with 4 holes. The printing would have to be adjusted to fit in between the holes. I was under the impression they could do it with just two holes and so was the local sales person. Apparently the frames all have holes on the edge where the indentations are located. If you flip it, the holes would be at the bottom but we need holes at the top, hence, four holes only. If there is enough interest in more frames EXACTLY like they were originally made and sold by GaryC, I will order 50 of them. Post in the Merchandise section if you are interested in buying the original type plate frame. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000268.html Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I thought it was a go. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 04-01-2004 at 02:57 PM |

ED, you might reconcider the frame with 4 holes. IF.......they can get the lettering to look right the extra holes would be good to secure the plate to the frame at the bottom....for the states that are using THIN FLAT STEEL plates this would keep them straight in the frame. Using short machine screws with chrome caps would look OK. I do not need the reversed frame for the Cat, but I would like the screw holes at the bottom.....MY 2 CENTS |
