We have all talked about the impact us as owners and our cars make on people but today in the mail box I received this letter along with 3 pages of drawings from a young man I met in Daytona at the Turkey Rod Run, I wish I could just scan this as he put a lot of thought into it but here it is:

REAL ROD
Dear ..... Bob Goetz
From ..... Larry E. Miller Jr.
First I would like to tell you thank you sir for letting me sit in your Prowler. I admire your prowler. Your Prowler is so different from any prowler I've seen before. It gives me a good feeling because of its difference and this particular prowler reminds me of myself.

I love being different and unique, as a matter of fact that's what I look for with every car I observe.
Anyway thanks again and hopefully I'll see you again with my own ride that's customized .

I drag race two prowlers ( 1/25 scale ) one is yellow and the other "THE GREAT" is purple. I had my first win with the purple prowler, and many more. I've won a lot of money with this car. The yellow one I just started racing, it was an early birthday present.

P.S. Check out my ideas/pictures

THANKS SOOOO MUCH Larry E. Miller Jr.

Please write back... He gave me his address but I do not want to post it, I am going to send this kid some stuff and if anyone here would like to PM me and I will forward the address.

He was in Daytona with his dad and his dad told me that I made his kids day! they are from Pennsylvania.

He sounds like a great guy, Bob! One to make you proud to be his mentor.
I didn't feel like digging up the thread, but did anyone ever help out that birthday girl in Florida? The one who's birthday was Dec. 30 (I think). We never got an update on that one.

Sorry CTP - he didn't say who he received the box from. He didn't type a whole lot and I was trying to "pull" information out of him...took about 15 minutes to figure out who he was! Anyway, he was very appreciative.

When he was signing out, he asked me say hello to everyone for him.

Actually, Mickey, I did. Not only did I send some things out of my personal collection, but she asked me to pick some things up at the CAAP store which she would pay for. So, I made the trip, sent the package and now I can't get her to respond to send the money I spent for her at the CAAP store. I've sent several emails. Around Christmas, I finally received one saying she would send a check that week.............still no check and no response to my latest email. I don't mind giving the personal collection stuff, but I would like to be reimbursed for the other stuff she asked me to get.

I don't blame you on wanting to be reimbursed. Sorry to hear she did you that way. I was referring to someone going out to take the girl for a ride in their Prowler. I thought someone was going to do that for her. Maybe its just as well if nobody did if thats how her mother "repays" gratitude. It's just a shame that the kid is the one to "pay" for it. If there really was a kid??
