Taking time out from its normal task of advising the government on how to run the country, the January 5 New York Times featured an article on the failure of "Retro" vehicles to become moneymakers in their old age. Lumping the Prowler with that joke, the Thunderbird, the piece goes on to infer that Prowlers can be bought on just about any corner for $30,000. Not that a resale value of nearly 80% of original list is shabby, the piece misses the point that most of us wouldn't sell for any number. Pulling into a parking place next to a Ferrari, and having everyone ignore that car, while asking what the Kat is, represents all the validation we need. The poor slob who wrote that dumb article has missed the point. Owning a Prowler has never been about making money. |

I guess this guy would think that GM is really stupid for coming out with their new retro truck. He probably drives an 82 Honda. |

Haven't owned a Ford for years but I might have to sell one of my Ram's for the new Mustang just unveiled. That brings back memories. http://autoweek.com/specials/2004_detroit/index.mv#ford ------------------ |

Did they put a dollar value on the PR? If not then they don't get it. But then the NYT doesn't get anything so why are we surprised? This could mean that we used DCs advertising budget to our benefit. Oh damn! this might keep me awake all night. ZZZZZZzzZZzzz... ZZZzzzZzz.. ~bg |
