deelmakurTaking time out from its normal task of advising the government on how to run the country, the January 5 New York Times featured an article on the failure of "Retro" vehicles to become moneymakers in their old age. Lumping the Prowler with that joke, the Thunderbird, the piece goes on to infer that Prowlers can be bought on just about any corner for $30,000. Not that a resale value of nearly 80% of original list is shabby, the piece misses the point that most of us wouldn't sell for any number. Pulling into a parking place next to a Ferrari, and having everyone ignore that car, while asking what the Kat is, represents all the validation we need. The poor slob who wrote that dumb article has missed the point. Owning a Prowler has never been about making money.
FL Blue KatRight on!

Black Tie 161The Thunderbird is not a joke to us.....LOL.

jd2ksilverUs either

Everybody has choices, even the guy who wrote the article. And, opinions are like $$$ %%%%s. Everyone has one.

Randy Cobbdeelmakur -

The poor writer just doesn't get it.

A Yogism applies here. "He just doesn't know what he doesn't know".

Black Tie 161JD2Ksilver: For the T-Bird (good color choice BTW...LOL) we bought (from the dealer) a chrome piece that replaces the hood scoop trim...really jazzes up the hood. Do you belong to www.thunderbirdnest.com ?
Gary CIt's kinda like Harleys, you don't understand until you own one.

DR PROWLERAnd for every bad opinion, there are several good ones...so it doesn't really matter what he says.
Lone RangerYou know "for every a** there is a seat" and i think we're all sitting pretty good.
meancatAnd I thought it was about the money.(boy you people have me confused)
KlasKatI guess this guy would think that GM is really stupid for coming out with their new retro truck. He probably drives an 82 Honda.

Patty does, her name is Pattycakes I think. Got a pic of the piece? or part number?

And, If that GM truck would actually have a working size bed (8 feet) I'd have one of them too, I think they look good.

CJMost of these writers aren't real "car guys" and like we say.........

"Either you get it or you don't".

Top KatAgreed!!!!! As someone else said, very few of us are interested in selling.
aleeHe probably takes the subway to work
MDProwlerHaven't owned a Ford for years but I might have to sell one of my Ram's for the new Mustang just unveiled. That brings back memories.

growlDid they put a dollar value on the PR? If not then they don't get it. But then the NYT doesn't get anything so why are we surprised? This could mean that we used DCs advertising budget to our benefit. Oh damn! this might keep me awake all night. ZZZZZZzzZZzzz... ZZZzzzZzz..
