Well, got the new (to me) Prowler and it is absoulutely gorgeous! Only thing is that I can not find the freaking jack or lug wrench. Nor can I locate the hood prop bar. Manual says nothing bout a jack or where the hood prop bar is located. They may have been removed, but if I knew where they were supposed to be, it would keep me from removing stuff to find em. hehe Help please! |

Hello free, The Prowler doesn't have a jack as the original tires were Goodyear EMT's. Also as far as the hood prop those were only on the 1997 and early 1999 cars. The later 1999 and going forward have gas shocks that hold the hood up. What year and color Prowler did you get? and BTW welcome to the POA. |

Welcome, Free. No Jack or Lug Wrench as no Spare! Tires are Runflats. If your Kat is '99 or newer, you have gas filled hood struts to keep the hood up-no prop needed. These lose pressure frequently and wont hold the hood open. I got a good deal on a new pair for my Prowler from Caruso Chrysler/ Plymouth in Florida, mail order. Call Alan Kiser, 904-727-3502 and he will fix you up. Where in Texas are you located and what year Prowler did you get? Regards, Buddy. ------------------ |

I told the dealer I never drove a car off the lot without a jack. He said I didn't need a jack since there's no spare. I told him I still had to maintain it. He gave me a jack that looked like a modified wind up Barbie doll that wasn't for the car. They wanted me to sign a waiver in case it fell off the jack. Then they decided that wasn't such a good idea so they gave me ramps. The next day, someone called and said my floor jack was there. So, I ended up with a jack, a floor jack, and a set of ramps. I had to buy my own 4-way. The hood prop bar was done away with in 99 or 2000 I thought. It was replaced with hydraulic arms. The ones with the prop, its located under the hood on the drivers side. You want a jack? ------------------ |

CarQuest had the hood props for awhile but it seems like they might have been discontinued. |
