I am diligently working with The Daytona Beach Street Rods for a permanent and NEW entry criteria other than the current “25 year old” rule that will allow the Prowler to participate on it’s own merits.

I respectfully request that you take a few minutes and email rick@turkeyrun.com advising him that you, as a Prowler Owner, are lobbying for his support of the following NEW entry criteria…

LIMITED FACTORY BUILT VEHICLE… ANY original factory built vehicle “model” that is out of production whose total production quantities were less than 12,000 vehicles built, will be accepted as a “normal” entry without any further exemption rules or considerations being required.

It is critical that you DO THIS NOW… there is a Club (decision) meeting this Thursday night, 21 August 2003 and with 2,000 + POA members lobbying for this change, the message will be loud and clear.

This change is designed to represent the Prowler without offending any vehicle still in production or those produced in very high quantities over the years.

If we receive a favorable change, we can use the same presentation with other “sanctioning” organizations for all future events. It is time that we are recognized as what we are and what we are all about… we are Automotive (Hot Rodders) Enthusiasts!

Email Rick NOW… we are ALL counting on you and your voice to be heard!

As a former 29 Ford Coupe Hot Rod owner and currently the proud owner of a Plymouth Prowler for the last four plus years, I am respectfully lobbying for your support to allow Prowlers at the Turkey Run under the following new category.

One of our fellow Prowler Owners posted the following information on our club website and he is asking us to email you in support of the change mentioned below. I am a female owner that has two Prowlers, a 1999 Black (which is stock) and a 2002 (which is modified). I also have worked in the Motorsports industry for five years and the company that I worked for managed the International Show Car Association (ISCA). I am very automotive literate and I have a love for hot rods and classic cars. My husband works for DaimlerChrysler and was on Team Prowler. I believe that if you love cars, you should respect all cars. When I worked for the Motorsports company, we did the Plymouth Prowler RoadShow for Chrysler. It was my program to handle, and I enjoyed talking with the consumers about the Prowler. I fully appreciate the time, money and effort that goes into restoring classic cars. I would always tell the skeptics that the Prowler was a vehicle that was designed to give those of us who don't have the time, money, talent or resources to restore or buy an old classic car, something to drive and have fun with!! If you check our website, prowleronline.com, you will see that we spend time and money in doing modifications to our vehicles also, and we are just as proud of them as someone who has done the same with a '57 Chevy, a '63 Split window Corvette, or a Dodge Charger!! There are also a lot of cars out there that are let in these same shows that are built from kits (they are not originals), including most of the Cobras that you see.

We are only asking to be accepted by the hot rod enthusiasts, the same as we appreciate the cars that they have. Prowlers are unique in that there were only 11,703 built (a fair number which were sold in Canada). I hope that you will consider our request to be included in your future events.

It's a shame that you are taking this stance, as you are hurting the very people who make your events successful....the car enthusiasts!! We just love our cars like anyone else loves theirs and we feel that we should have an opportunity to participate in any and all car events. Maybe 50+ Prowlers showing up for the Turkey Trot and having a show across the street giving free rides, lots of nice interaction, photo opps, etc would siphon off some of his business. Too bad he hasn't thought about how many additional vehicles and spectators he would get with a nice showing of Prowlers included.
