I know! It's not the correct place for this, but it's too important to miss......

"Simple installation. Larry's correct, they should have been there from the factory. One of those little things that gets overlooked during development. They're cheap! I lost my favorite cell phone to the hinge demon. To heck with the phone, it could have sprung the deck lid!
If you haven't purchased a set, don't hesitate a moment longer. This is a GOTTA HAVE update. Larry, can you say 11,000 sets??????

People complain about there not being a lot of things out there for Prowler. Here's a guy doing something for us owners! Do I have them all? Hinge protectors, trailer stand, trailer latch reinforcement, hitch carrier...what have I missed? This needs to stay out for people to see."

I finally installed mine tonight. I had had the hardtop on since we went to Indy a few weeks ago and just never got around to it. I have to remove the hardtop to access the trunk. It took about 2 or 3 minutes, literally to install them. They fit perfect and do the job. Thanks very much Larry.
By the way, I received mine as a birthday gift, from Larry. How is that for being a true Prowler friend.
Last week I was thinking about all the nice things that Prowler owners have done for me over the past few years and thought that it would be a good thread to start. Then I got to thinking about how numerous the generous acts totalled and did not think it would work out. I would certainly leave someone out and i did not want to do that. Anyway, thanks for all the generous acts bestowed on Sandy and me from all of our Prowler friends.
Thanks again, Larry. It is a simple solution to a common problem and glad you thought of it and acted upon it.

Put mine on Sat.
I agree with Ed. Actual installation may have taken 2 minutes tops. Took me longer to get out the tools than to do the job!
Thanks Larry!

Got mine today and had them installed in less than 2 minutes. Originally I was going to make my own, but Larry's price was so cheap I decided not to bother. Larry, thanks for a good product at a reasonable price.

WOW!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. Especially you Bob. It really means something when you get the RPL/DC Stamp of Approval to go along with the Alley Cat Stamp.

I even sold 8 sets while on our cruise yesterday. As soon as people see them on a car, they buy a set for their own Prowler.

I think I even sold 3 more trailer hitches for DC yesterday after everyone saw my new KatRack.
I carried a 56 quart cooler full of ice and drinks and even 3 chairs for the cruise. When we got to Daltons for the car show, I unloaded the cooler and used it for a footstool then used the KatRack for a table while we all sat around the back of my car and chatted.

More Pictures

My next project is an umbrella that will mount to the tray of the KatRack to give a person a complete "patio set" to use for car shows. I'm hoping to have it on for next Sundays Lighthouse for the Blind Car Show.

ALLEY CAT STAMP OF APPROVAL is now attached to the Larry Lord FMBOX Prowler Hinge Protectors

Here are the install details:

Hinges come butted together with a bolt and nut holding them in place. After six minutes trying to separate them with a screwdriver,,,,,went to garage to get out the sockets. Man,,,,who attached them together?
Then I noticed it was still 106 degrees outside. Got the 13mm socket and ratchet out and sent Lethia out into the hot sun baked garage to install the hinge protectors
Only took her 45 seconds to do each side!!! I then had to go out and examine her work,,,,thought it to be done in such a short time, there must be an error! Nope, she did a perfect job,,,perfect fit,,,perfect product. A MUST for every Prowler owner.

Buy NOW! Perfect Father's Day, Birthday, Anyday gift idea!

PLUS, carries the exclusive ALLEY CAT STAMP OF APPROVAL!!!

Larry, you will be getting email on this

Dan:

Great work on the stamp!
Only question is; is it worth 35 cents?!

With the Alley Cat seal of approval it's gotta be great! Holly cow, 45 seconds...it took me two minutes.

All kidding aside, these things should have been there from the beginning. I don't care about the things that might get crushed and destroyed, the deck lid alignment is much more important. One immovable object, one attempted closing and you may have to live with a mis-aligned deck lid forever.

Great Father's Day gift! I wasn't kidding when I said that I believe every Prowler should have these installed as a protective measure. Front and rear splash guard plus hinge protectors are must haves! Both of CJ's have them already.

Just got back from the post office. They didn't have any of the Alley Cat stamps. What gives?

Bob - Lethia said it was 45 seconds for each one,,,,and she broke a nail doing it! Your two minutes was close Maybe Lethia and you can produce a install video that Mike Gatlin can distribute?

As for no AC stamps at the post office? Rochester Hills? Because it is a annexed community apart from Rochester, Michigan,,, that no stamps were available yet. Coming soon to a post office near you!
