Hello everyone. I am a new member and I really appreciate all of the info I have learned already from all of you. I would like to know what exhaust system you recommend; and I am trying to locate someone named Mean Gene. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Prowl On! |

Welcome RPM. If you dangle some raw meat and lay out a trail of 1/18 scale Prowlers, Meangene will magically appear at your door... ------------------ |

RPM: Welcome! Just click on SEARCH and type in exhaust and you will find numerous posts concerning exhaust modifications. Exhuast sound is a personal taste find of thing depending on what you like in regards to tone and volume. There are several ways to go in all kinds of price ranges. I thought the OEM exhaust was wimpy for the car and finally settled on the Mopar/Bolar system. I had my dealer install it. It's pricey, but looks great and the sound fits my ear and I THINK matches the image of the car. ------------------ |

I have the Mopar/Borla system on both of my cats and I love it. Much better sounding (great rumble in low gear), but not obnoxious when you're driving. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Welcome RPM! I would concur with Randy and CJ...the Mopar/Borla is a great option. I had mine installed just about a month ago and it's a vast improvement over the stock system. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Prowl On! ------------------ |

What is the SSS muffler and where do you get it? Opinions - does it sound better than the MOPAR/Borla system? Still in the process of deciding what to purchase. I am leaning to the MOPAR/Borla for both sound and tips.

Another option is straight pipes, no muffler, but leave the tips on the car. Lots of choices, lots of opinions. |

RPM, Not sure I'm helping here but (many will tell you that's never stopped me before ) I alway thought the SSS muffler was this. When I went to the site, I didn't see the SSS name. So maybe not. But I assume this is an options as well? |

The SSS is sold (and designed) by Jay at GoldCoast (Yeller Cat). I will see if I can dig up a few threads about it and post them here. IMO the SSS does sound better, but again... it is a personal thing This message has been edited by CWatsonJr on 04-30-2003 at 01:12 PM |

Okay - here is one thread about the Dyno Test Here is one showing Picture Comparison (stock vs. SSS) Here is one talking about the Sound Difference Here is a Field Test with probably the best pictorial of the muffler by Mike Krehel. Hope this helps ------------------ |
