My Black Tie is #62. Read post titled "50th Birthday Present..Black Tie #62" which I just posted earlier today, Tuesday March 11. The car number on Black Tie and Woodwards is painted in the pin stripe above the rear license plate. I don't think the candy reds were numbered in that manner, but not sure if I'm correct. |

My Woodward is # 130 / 150. You can see the # in the pinstripe on the center line of the trunk. There will be a squiggel and it is Dr.Ru's sig. The # is visible there on the Woodwards and Black ties only, but may be wrong. |

spoons... note the total production numbers for '97 under the facts and stats link from the main page *at the bottom* I tried to find out what number mine was in Apr. '98. I was told that can be determined by the last 6 digits in your VIN number *note the bottom of the owners registry link from the main page*. This is misleading. It is a number used by the factory to look up your production number. I just went out and checked my cowl for the paper sticker (indicated by WildCat in his post on this thread: http://www.prowleronline.com/ownreg/listprowler.php#vin ) and it said vehicle number PR-000210. Underneath that was the part number for the main body assembly. This too is misleading. After looking over my car underhood, I have seen many of these stickers. This reflects *in this case* that it was the 210th main body assembly part made. Here's what I did in '98 in my attempts to find out total production numbers for '97 and which one mine was... I called my dealer and asked. He didn't know so he called the factory for me and had them check, giving them my VIN number. He called me back shortly thereafter and told me that the factory records show that mine was the 156th '97 Prowler to roll off the assembly line out of a total 457 produced that year *now confirmed in facts and stats link on the main page*. I asked if he would send me that in writing and he was happy to do so. I now have that letter (and my window sticker) laminated. I hope this clears things up a little. So, to make a long story longer, in answer to the topic question, mine is the 156th Prowler to roll off the assembly line. This message has been edited by idive on 04-22-2003 at 04:53 PM |
