floor mats, arm rest, shift knob, seats, steering wheel, etc.? (It'll help to know what spare part(s) to stock up on.)

Parts wear very differently depending on the person's height, weight, how they get in and out of a given car, and lastly, how they take care of it. Mine from most accounts, look as good or better then new. But many people don't detail them as much as I do.

Tires! How's that for a smarta$$ answer!

I replaced floormats with blue flames mats last summer. At the time I had about 40,000 miles on my kat and they were beginning to show wear and tear.

I also have carbon fiber steering wheel cover so mine won't be a good indication, but I assume the leather on the wheel should last a long time. I covered the door panels and padded and recovered the console cover 35,000 miles ago and no wear showing. Shift knob has also been replaced(are you seeing a pattern here) with a chrome insert handle, but other than a few scratches, it's OK.

Seats haven't been replaced yet and with 52,000 miles still look pretty good.

Just had the brakes checked and front pads - ceramic were put on at 10,000 miles and are at about 50% presently.

So maybe tires wasn't such a smarta$$ answer after all.

I would say the chrome bezelm around the shifter has show the most wear - minor little scratches from buttins on my shirts I guess!

IMO - top side seat edges. I use charcoal sheepskins six months of the year, so maybe mine will not show that wear? My outside mirrors are catching lots of flack also.

Floor mats...

One thing I've tried and seems to work OK. I turned them updside down (rubber side up) while driving. This seems to be working and keeps the carpet side clean...

Hmmmmmmmmmm..........not really showing wear on the cats. I would have to say, though, that one of the mud flaps on the Candy Red is pretty rough on the bottom. It's lower than the one on the left!

I have a habit of riding with my hand resting on the shifter. My original shift knob and the nose bottom show the most wear. I now have a new chrome 300M shift knob that I use a cover on.

Rear tires. Replaced my rears at 13000 miles. Too much time in the box heating them up.

Right now I would say front mud flap, both fenders, headlight housing, and right side rocker panel. Maybe they will last longer if I can keep it out of pastures and 'tween the lines!! $4600 but I'm back on the road (for a while I hope). I do think turning the floor mats over is a good trick too. I could see where hiking boots were starting to make a mark at only 2400 miles.

The top is holding strong but shows that crease along the top that it gets when stowed.

also look at the base of the rear window for wear lines from the sharp edges of the window "frame" that wears the top fabric from the inside (but visible from outside) I felt under the fabric and placed some strips of velcro (just the pile) along the protruding crease and created a soft buffer for the window frame against the fabric...

Look at the base of your back window....if you see faint horizontal wear lines at the window base, I recommend this treatment.

That said, I hope the top is NOT the fastest wearing item.

with only 3K mi. so far, not much wear except for the scraped nose...

I tend to wear the finish off the leather on the top of the steering wheel of any and all cars/trucks I have ever had.

I eventually either get a new one or get a cover.

Does anyone know of a functional, yet attractive cover for a Prowler?

In our 300M, 2 summers ago, when it was really hot/ humid out, I got in the car and the sweat from my hand (from carrying briefcase outside) had just enough moisture, that when I grabbed the steering wheel at the top (and hottest part from sitting in the sun) The top leather of the steering wheel instantly blistered and bubbled! Now there is a wierd bubbly ridge of leather at that spot on the wheel from just that one time. UGH.

As far as wear on the leather items, I would recommend rubbing leather conditioner regularly on the seats, shifter, shifter boot, and steering wheel at least once a month! It doesn't take long at all to do and can extend the leather life for a looong time!

Randy, a wrap or two of duct tape works good for A/C and he is out there in that hot sun. (Maybe that is why he acts like that). lol. He likes it since it matches the paint.
