Front ceramic pads and splashguards. Very pedestrian, but they are my first. It's so nice to finally have consistently clean rims. I originally didn't like splashguards, but now I do because I think they lend a little meaner look to the car.... (there's just something about a piece of a car dangling just a couple inches above the road surface). As previously pointed out by POA veterans, I highly recommend both mods. Now I want to maintain a stock vehicle, so I'm absolutely sure these will be my last mods, right? |

I think we have all been there and said that. Other than the mud flaps and the ceramic brake pads, my car is relatively stock. Except the painted bumpers, mural on the deck lid and the pinstriping I had done. Still working on the neons and glass etching projects. See they are all stock...under all the mods. |

CapitalCat: The flaps and ceramic pads are a must in my book, so maybe they shouldn't be classified as mods. But I have the same feeling about Center Cap Hot Wax Treatment, bumper shimmers, performance exhaust, tranny cover, valve stem logo caps, etc..... You said the flaps "lend a little meaner look to the car". You're hooked and just don't realize it! Don't fight it and just have fun with your Kat! ------------------ |

Last Mods, maybe for this year,,, if you wanta meaner look dont shower or shave for a couple of weeks and knock some teeth out,,LOL Carlini's chromed headrest covers are Sweet, Hawt,, very clean..... ------------------  |

Come on John Next you need the front brace so when you drive up to NJ the car stays on the road. And get some Shimmers for the rear bumper so they see you on the ride back to DC. ------------------

All of you folks might have taken a perfectly good Prowler and modified it like some Hot Rodder from the 50's and 60's, but I decided to grow up and leave mine as the factory intended it to be. Except maybe for a couple of small things like,ceramic brake pads(the wheels got dirty),front mud flaps(the side of the car got dirty),Borla exhaust(seemed a little choked up),front brace(had a little cowl shake),MTD intake(need a little more air),trailer hitch(had to have something to hang the luggage rack off of). But other than that it is pretty much stock. Al ------------------ |

The first 6 months or so that I owned it I thought mods were defacing the perfect car. Then I did a few things to IMPROVE it. lol. I think I am finished. (Except maybe for a chrome front end and maybe one or two other SMALL changes) I forget all the things I have changed until I read threads like this and realize what all I have done. Then I see Marty and realize mine is still totally stock. lol |

We did, however, change the 99 gray bumpers to black ones on my 99 Black cat and the Prowler/Borla exhausts. Then I finally pleaded enough that we painted the Candy Cat bumpers Candy Red, chrome grille, ceramic brake pads, Prowler/Borla exhausts and louvered side panels done by SoCal Speed Shop.......other than that........it's stock!! lol! |

LOL BLACKAL! You put it best! "Just one more mod to make it perfect" Is my state of mind now.... I think we do it to help keep the car "fresh" to us. I remember getting all giggly when I installed the MTD 2.2 intake system and started it up for the first time!! My Mods....In order of appearance...... Mud flaps front and rear. I don't even want to think about how many mods I have made. I have even made modifications to my modifications! Since I "modified" some of the cylinders I have decided to see if maybe some changes to the heads, valves, cams, etc. might be next in line. I am sure will Ed will be following me down that road soon, too! |

Al, I took it to a body shop and they got the paint from the dealer, I think. I am not positive. It has held up really well, I think. It looks better in person than in the pictures, in my opinion. I think any color that matches the body is better than the stock grey or black but that is just my opinion. Ed, I agree the body color on the bumpers looks the best. I'll go talk to someone at a local body shop. I presume you removed the bumpers and took them to the shop for painting.This should be my last mod (right)LOL. Al ------------------ |

Al, I took them off myself and paid $ 200 about 3 years ago. I may have gotten a decent deal since I know the guy. They said they were a pain to paint due to the interior triangles on the front bumpers. |
