I am going to change color on the orange Kat this winter....want something different and bright....all comments or suggestions welcome....the car will probably have a hardtop on it also....Have narrowed the choices down to 1970 Vitamin C orange....or lime green(hate the color, but it sure is an eyecatcher)...even thought about a dark green(Hunter green ?)with a tan soft top....considered a Vette Pewter with tan soft top, but I think the Kat deserves to be seen a mile away, or does it deserve to be classy ???....I also have a yellow Kat and a Kandi Kat....so yellow and reds are off my list this time...I am also not a fan of blue cars.......so what is it...orange/lime/pewter/dark green....any other ideas....since there are no more new colors to choose from, I plan on changing this car every winter so I can still have a different kat once in a while...it is driven daily and has quite a few miles, so no great loss of collector value with a color change here....opinions welcome, I won't be insulted

If I had the chance to change the paint, I would DEFINITELY go with the new SpectraFlair paint. They have an amazing range of colors.......blues, greens, reds/pinks, silvers, gold, purples. You can control the shade by the percentage of color that is mixed in the paint. Larry Weiner of Performance West has used this paint on several of Bob's image cars. It's awesome!

Here is a link to Flex Products site and the paint:

http://www.chromaflair.com/pages/sub_feature.phtml?id=19

Larry used blue on the Wrangler Wrangler he did for the SEMA show.

I agree with CJ, if money were no object, color shifting paint.

I also agree with CJ. As much as I like the high impact colors of the '70s, paint technology has come a long way. I'd also consider the orange used on the Copperhead or the Razor orange from the concept vehicle. Very high impact and should work well with the parts of the car your not painting.

I also agree with CJ.
The paint and color of the Jeep she posted looks good.
Maybe one of your fav colors and this paint technology?

The SpectraFlair paint is very different than the "old" chromeallusion paints.......not as much "traveling" in the paint.........more pearlescent. It is also easy to repair sections without having to repaint the whole car with it blending perfectly!!!

Yep, spectra flair, or pearl white, or, even chrome allusion flames over the orange. I wouldn't paint in challenger orange, lime green or pink... standing out by making people want to puke is not a good thing.

Nyle Wing painted his Challanger Orange sometime ago. I was unable to find any of the pictures of his Kat. Maybe they are "off" as I understand he sold it ( I wonder if the color was part of the reason )

Here are some of Nyle's car. He had ghost flames, also.

I don't remember if Spectraflair came in white, I'll have to get the paint chips back from Bob, but a white pearl would be awesome with some Spectra flair flames!!!

Larry,
I was never a fan of Vitamin C, reminds me of Taxi cab..NOTTA

Sub Lime Green...nah

Panther pink...I think you would be sorry

These colors look good now but when new they were not that popular. With Nyle's and Mike having a car real close to Hemi Orange you can get a good idea of what it would look like by seeing theirs. I never got the chance to see Nyle's car clean and in the sun light but sure looked good dirty

IF I were to paint mine another color one would be House of Color Candy Tangerine...or Pearl Yellow or one I would really like to see.......PEARL WHITE...WHEN DO WE START

The orange you are showing in the second picture isn't bad.
If you shot it in more or less that shade and made it pearl, that would look rather cool.

Wildcat...
....I think the candy tangerine is probably my favorite, saw it at Louisville NSRA last summer, but I want a DRASTIC color change, thought it would look too similar to what it currently is....pearl yellow, again, I have one yellow Kat(used to have 2)....don't think I need 2 yellow Kats again....I am really leaning towards the Pearl White/flames..............now, what color flames...lotsa flames or go conservative ??? Questions, questions, questions.....enquiring minds want to know
