Visited CAAP recently, and what a change...such large expanses of floor space that used to build Prowlers....but the space is rapidly filling with new built Vipers.....very exciting time to be there....the new cars are absolutely beautiful !!! Performance beyond expectations....if you are looking for another toy, or your next toy look no further...DC has the answer....VIPER SRT/10

Sure would like to make the trip to CAAP again. We here in GA have to make sure it's really really cold before we come up to Detroit. Thanks for the post on the SRT/10. Any sign of the V10 Ram in that plant?

Good luck on the Viper SRT/10. The first year's production has already been sold, but none of the cars have been delivered (despite expected deliveries in October). Apparently there are delays in certification of the exhaust system and perhaps other problems awaiting resolution.

TriJim...
There were approx 65 completed Vipers in the plant(all red)....the first black ones are on the line now....I knew one of my SRT's (#121) had been built and I found it there....kind of a kick to see it sitting there ready to go...still looks like several weeks before shipping....interior heat issue seems solved, just waiting on California...I also have F.E. ACR #74...have yet to put many miles on it...owned F.E. #238 at one time...think it is in Ca. now....larry

larry -- You'll have to let us know when you get the 3 Gen Viper and how it compares (after driving it for a few months instead of minutes at VOI). I'm sure you're following the delivery debate on VCA. I was surprised to hear they switched to black -- thought initial run was going to be 100 of each. Wife and I have never been to CAAP, but planning a "pilgrimage" next summer. You'll have to give us tips on when to go, what to see, and side trips (like the Chrysler Museum) while we're there.

TriJim....I had heard all along 50 of each color, so I was surprised to see so many red....last I have seen on VCA board is 50% RED, 25% BLACK, 25% SILVER.....so maybe a few more reds than expected....I have a black ordered also, but no VON on that one yet...expected springtime delivery at best...some of the performance figures are flat out ASTOUNDING....several neat things to see and do in Detroit, if you come thru Indy can find you even more stuff to see and do.....

Tri-Jim, go see the museum in Auburn, IN that houses the Duesenbergs, Auburns and Cords. It is an outstanding museum and about 2 hours from Detroit. The Ford Museum is something else also, a lot more than cars, there.
