Prowler events? I noticed, on the new poll, which has been up for, what, 1-2 days? That already 54 members (by the time I looked), said they never went to any events. Off all the things I have done with my cars, the events are the MOST fun, and you meet such nice people. Why don't you go?????? ------------------ |

Todd posted "Off all the things I have done with my cars, the events are the MOST fun, and you meet such nice people. Why don't you go??????" I agree. Rich & I love to go to the events. We have met such wonderful people at them and had a blast in the process. Our lives have been greatly enriched by attending the events. You are really missing out if you don't attend events. |

Ditto what Todd and Linda have posted. While I honestly believe everyone is entitled to drive, modify, and take care of their car as they wish; I truly believe those that skip events miss one of the great pleasures of Prowler ownership. 18 months ago you could have NEVER had convinced me we would plan vacations (and some business meetings)so we could attend Prowler events. The many friendships we have made are real treasure! |

TRIPLE DITTO It is beyond me why cat owners would rather keep them in the garage??? If they only knew what they are missing! Someone post that picture of 68 cats on the 'off ramp' at the 2002 Colorado event. |

I have to echo what the others have said. When I got the cat 3 1/2 years ago I told Sandy that it was stupid to modify it since it was already perfect, I wasn't about to go on vacation with a bunch of people I had never met and there is no way in Heck I was going to pay $ 25 extra for personalized license plates every year. I have saved a lot of money by eating crow, since then. lol. Of course my cat is still stock (except for the mods) and my Plate is RQUTE 66 with the tail of Q whitened out, and we have been to the Grand Canyon, Deadwood, Colorado, Skyline Drive, Caap tribute, Woodward, Louisville, Cruisin the Coast and a bunch of local and regional events like Columbus, Indianapolis, etc. We have been in several parades and I have organized a lot of the local get togethers. Other than that I stick with my statement 3 1/2 years ago. I repeat, if you do not attend an event, you are missing out on meeting some great people and having a lot of fun. I wouldn't dare list all of the great people for fear that I would leave someone out. It is well over 100, though. See you all in the Smoky Mtns. in August. Purple Lady speaks for both of us. I have owned muscle cars, street rods, hot rods, customs, motorcyles, and antique cars. Except for the muscle cars, the Prowler has actually been the most practical of them all. Furthermore bar none it has been 1000 times more fun than all the others put together. I quote Yeller Kats that you meet the nicest people in a Prowler. We have been to Woodward 2001 & 2002, the Last Prowler Tribute, Louieville, Rocky Mountains and CTC and we can't wait until the next event to see all of our friends, make new friends and have a blast again. |

Maybe it’s because Ed comes to all our events? (I just wrote him a thanks for his help so I can throw one of these in there) I have to admit that I only made one event since I got my car in May. And that was just for one day of it. Having a wife that’s not all that interested in the kat scene and two kids 7 and 5 (they just don’t fit in the trunk) makes it kind of difficult as well. But Todd’s right. The one event and local activities have been a lot of fun. I got to know some people and have gotten to know them and more better via the web site. It’s not the only way to enjoy your kat, but it sure adds to the ownership experience. ------------------ |

Ed, I like that.. "RQUTE 66" with white out on the tail of the Q. You are darn innovative. You could go to jail but I still like it. |

Totall agree with everyone above. Events are the greatest and the people are fantistic. Having a car and not going to events is like having a candy box without the candy...and you know what mama says about CHOCKALOT.Just ask Forest. ------------------ |

Ditto Joe. Have a wife and two little kiddos and weekends (as well as weekdays) are reserved for them. We also don't stray too far from our home area so, we would not join in any event more then 10 miles away. Even then, this car is a two seater. So, with no place for the kiddos, I can either go it alone or find a sitter for them so the wife can go or have the three of them in tow in a chase vehicle. Neither are real exciting options. Get togethers are great for getting ideas on the car but, then that's what POA is all about. FYI-Isn't this the same topic asn the one TLRandall posted on Monday? http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007619.html This message has been edited by YellowFever on 10-29-2002 at 08:15 AM |

I fall into the same category as YellowFever & JoeD: We tried everything possible to start a family and I vowed if we ever had kids they would be #1 in my life. Well, thru adoption we (at 48) are blessed with a 10 year old boy and a 5 year old boy. They are very active in school, sports and other activities. |

Haven't been able to attend any yet. I'm in the military and was deployed for the first half of the year and am stationed in Hawaii. I hope to attend a few events once I get back to the mainland. Howard ------------------ |

Trey... you above all people here have the $ to have two or three Kats (if you want to keep one low miles). I know you love them, or you'd not keep buying them after having problems. So, simply by one for the wife and bring everyone at the next event! These are family affairs anyhow. ------------------ |

I totally agree with everyone, last weekend I was out in northern CA on business, I contacted CAPhil and said " do you mind if I tag along" he said no come on. I spend a great weekend Crusin' the RedWoods, met all kinds of new friends and had a blast, if it was not for POA I could not have, and I was driving a Grand Am and no one cared. Sunday JD,Jim,Scott and myself went home on the coast highway had a great time, just got to my hotel late. Bob ------------------ This message has been edited by hack1320 on 10-29-2002 at 06:21 PM |

CTC was the first event that Ken and I have attended that wasn't local and we had one of the best vacations we have had! It was a great time and we really enjoyed meeting everyone and especially the cruises together - nothing like seeing that many kats in a row! We have three kids also, but Ken's parents came in and stayed with them for us to be able to attend. However, you don't always have to actually bring your kat - look at Ed - he was even racing in his PT (and I use the word "racing" loosely) We have already put in our names for the national event for 2003 and can't wait to attend. We are thinking about renting or buying a trailer to haul the Prowler and that way we can bring the kids in the Expedition. I had magnetic signs made up that say "Prowler Chase Team, Jamie Kylie and Kristian" so the kids won't feel left out riding in the Expedition behind the pack! I hope I am not beating a dead horse. Most of the talk is NOT about cars. It is about everything. What happened earlier in the day, what are we doing tomorrow, where are we going to eat, Did you see that ???, Can you believe Ed & Sandy came on a motorcycle, Sasquatch's wig looks terrible, YOU HAD TO BE IN A SCHOOL ZONE, Marty's car was SMOKIN and smoking, has anyone talked to ??? lately, remember the time that ____, etc. You do not have to take part in everything, only the things that you want to do. You do not have to be in a Prowler to have fun. Again, when you have small children, they do take top priority but like my ex-friend Tami stated, you deserve a get-away trip once in awhile, too. When my kids were small I never went off and left them, either. I understand that perfectly, but seriously it is not all about cars all day and all evening. |
