Well, I did it. Four weeks ago I flew to Ohio to buy a 2000 Yellow with 4,300 miles on it. I am the proudest Kat owner their is. I mean, I never thought I would get one. But, She's all mine!

I could never have been prepared for all the attention I'm getting. WOW!! I will give two examples. 1) When I was on my way to MN to show my friends and family before I head home to Tampa, FL. I stopped at a way side rest to take a nap with the top up and windows down. I awoke 15 mins later with 4 people checking out my Kat. lol.... So, I step out of my gleaming Yellow Kat and conversed with them all for about 20 mins. 2) I was at a stop light and a car coming the other way stopped (stopping traffic) and asked what is that???? I said "aaawwwwwesome" while nodding my head. But I did tell him it is a Prowler. He went WOW and drove away. Thats just a few of the many stories in only 4 weeks.

I did put on 4,200 miles on my Kat and had a blast every mile, top up or down, its an experience either way!

The reason I feel I'm the proudest owner is... I dont fit your typical income level of Kat owners. I'm unemployed computer guy. (because I just moved to Tampa) But I had the money to buy and I said why not? Its a beatiful car and I want it. lol

I love this website and hope to get to know other Kat owners in the Tampa area.

Thanks for listening to my stories.

As another recent new member and new owner, welcome! You've GOT to spend some time on the discussion boards to learn the ins and outs of these cars - they have a lot of quirks.

And don't worry about your income level - buying a Prowler is the equivalent of taking a vow of eternal poverty, anyway. Wait until you start hearing about "The Mods" that are available...

Check out advice on this board re: (1) center (wheel) caps, (2) how to avoid damaging your convertible top, and (3) the absolute necessity of installing mud flaps on the front fenders. It's for real!!!

Congratulations.

Dead End Don: Thanks! They mods I do have are front and rear flaps, tinted windows, and I polished the rear part of the frame. More to come.. I will have to read up about the top... I think I would cry if I ended up getting a hole in it.

Laddie: Thank you!

Prowlerfreak: Good luck on getting your Kat. You wont regret it! Cisco is the way to go... But I'm going for my MCP, MCSE and MCDBA.

Welcome to both of the new guys. Put ceramic brake pads on the front ONLY. About $ 75 but it is worth that much just in time saved. Where in Ohio did you buy it?

Hey, we are not all rich at least in the monitary field. I'm also in IT and believe it or not I already own 1/3 of my Kat. In just 42 more payments and its all mine, but I drive it now as if it was all mine. Work on IBM AS/400 and NT Networks. Love the work and the variety. Then I keep thinking only 9 more years to work then I can find a job not so stressful, but again I handle the stress quite well. Glad you like the Kat, whenever I drive mine it is like I'm a totally different person, all similes!!
