The Convertible Top's Secondary Catch (plastic) parts are on Back Order. Are they going to make more of these parts or am I S.O.L.?

I know I am not alone because their are 11 of them back ordered before me.

PN 5083347AA - Secondary Catch - $3.47

I ordered 10 of them and they were here within a week. Maybe it depends on what region you are in. If you guys (or gals) want me to order them for you, let me know and I'll check into it.

JP - Check and see if your dealer can get a set for me. Currently they seem to be on back order.

I ordered 10 of them a few weeks back and they showed up the 13th. The cost was $2.75 each. They should be available now.

I'd like to order several of the entire convertible latch assembly that hooks to the front windshield, are there several part numbers to accomplish this.............if so can someone tell me what they are or where to find them so I get the right parts.
Thanks a million.

MikeR, try part #4897884AA - from the parts index in the "Garage" section. I think this is the complete and EXPENSIVE latch!

I don't see what all the hoopla's about. I've got a '97 (purchased 11/97) and the latches haven't broken. The top goes up/down several times a week. I also haven't experienced the torn top many people have. Mabye it's not the parts that are bad, but the way the people are using them...

I got mine today for $3.47 each. The difference in prices is because some dealers charge a stocking fee, which is BS.

Spoons,
I'm guessing you don't need me to check into it now. Let me know otherwise.

Took a week for my 4 to come in. If this helps, invoice shows list price of $3.70, my price of $2.59 (no shipping, no tax, no add-ons). Nate at John Youngblood (1-800-725-6021) has been GRReat (originally recommended by our member Steve Metscher).

Is this the $3-$4 part, or the $275 part?

Sounds like secondary catch only ($3 part):

"You are bidding on One (1) plastic replacement clip, brand new. Buyer pays shipping of $1.50"

For just $1.09 more than SHIPPING ALONE, you can get a new one.

The Plastic tab (Secondary catch) is $3.70, the entire latch is assembly is $270.00. All dealers can get this part within a few days. DO NOT spend more than $3.70 or you are paying over retail.
